śuni’ prabhu kahena,—“tumi nā jāna dharma-marma
svāmi-ājñā pāle,—ei pati-vratā-dharma
Synonyms
suni—hearing; prabhu kahena—Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu said; tumi—you; na jana—do not know; dharma-marma—real religious principles; svami—of the husband; ajna—order; pāle—obeys; ei—this; pati-vrata-dharma—the religious principle of a chaste woman. ¶
Translation
Hearing this, Lord Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu said, “My dear Vallabha Bhaṭṭa, you do not know religious principles. Actually, the first duty of a chaste woman is to carry out the order of her husband. ¶
