śrī-śuka uvāca
gopā nandādayaḥ śrutvā
drumayoḥ patato ravam
tatrājagmuḥ kuru-śreṣṭha
nirghāta-bhaya-śaṅkitāḥ

Synonyms

sri-sukah uvāca—Śrī Śukadeva Gosvāmī said; gopah—all the cowherd men; nanda-ādayaḥ—headed by Nanda Mahārāja; śrutvā—hearing; drumayoḥ—of the two trees; patatoḥ—falling down; ravam—the high sound, as terrible as a thunderbolt; tatra—there, on the spot; ājagmuḥ—went; kuru-srestha—O Mahārāja Parīkṣit; nirghāta-bhaya-sankitah—who were afraid of falling thunderbolts. 

Translation

Śukadeva Gosvāmī continued: O Mahārāja Parīkṣit, when the yamala-arjuna trees fell, all the cowherd men in the neighborhood, hearing the fierce sound and fearing thunderbolts, went to the spot.
