> [!summary]
> *Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura (1638-1708) was one of the greatest ācāryas in the Gauḍīya Vaiṣṇava tradition. He wrote extensive commentaries on Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, Bhagavad-gītā, and other scriptures that are still authoritative today. ## In the Disciplic Succession
The chain of disciplic succession is described in Śrī Caitanya-caritāmṛta:
> The direct disciple of Śrīla Kṛṣṇadāsa Kavirāja Gosvāmī was Śrīla Narottama dāsa Ṭhākura, who accepted Śrīla Viśvanātha Cakravartī as his servitor.
