# Śrīmatī Rādhārāṇī > [!summary] > *Śrīmatī Rādhārāṇī is the eternal consort of Lord Kṛṣṇa and the embodiment of His internal pleasure potency (hlādinī-śakti). She is the supreme devotee, the crest jewel among all of Kṛṣṇa's beloveds, and the personification of the highest transcendental ecstasy known as mahābhāva. Though Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa are one in identity, They eternally appear as two to taste the mellows of divine love. All the gopīs of Vṛndāvana are Her expansions, and all devotional service ultimately flows through Her. Lord Caitanya Mahāprabhu is Kṛṣṇa Himself appearing with Her mood and golden complexion.* !images/all-catalogs/0087-Radha-Krishna.jpg ## The Lord's Internal Potency Śrīmatī Rādhārāṇī is the transformation of Kṛṣṇa's love into His pleasure-giving potency. She is not a separate entity but the Lord's own internal energy manifest in personal form. !cc/adi/4/55 !cc/adi/4/56 ## One Soul, Two Bodies Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa are identical, like fire and its heat, or musk and its fragrance. There is no difference between the energy and the energetic source. !cc/adi/4/96#translation !cc/adi/4/97#translation ## Embodiment of Mahābhāva The highest development of love of God is called mahābhāva — transcendental ecstasy in its most intense form. Śrīmatī Rādhārāṇī is the personification of this supreme love. !cc/adi/4/69 !cc/madhya/8/160#translation ## Supreme Among the Gopīs Among all the gopīs of Vṛndāvana, Śrīmatī Rādhārāṇī's love for Kṛṣṇa is unparalleled. She alone is described as Kṛṣṇa's most beloved. !cc/madhya/8/98#translation !cc/madhya/8/99 ## Her Eternal Abode In the spiritual world of Goloka Vṛndāvana, Śrīmatī Rādhārāṇī eternally resides with Lord Govinda. Her confidantes, the gopīs, are expansions of Her own form. !cc/adi/4/72 ## Lord Caitanya's Descent To taste the sweetness of Rādhārāṇī's love from Her perspective, Lord Kṛṣṇa appeared as Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu, accepting Her mood and golden complexion. !cc/adi/4/57#translation ## From the Scriptures **Śrī Caitanya-caritāmṛta, Ādi-līlā Chapter 4** — The confidential reasons for Lord Caitanya's appearance, explaining Rādhā-Kṛṣṇa tattva: - Ādi 4.55-57 — Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa's oneness and eternal separation - Ādi 4.69-71 — Rādhārāṇī as mahābhāva personified - Ādi 4.72 — Brahma-saṁhitā's description of Goloka - Ādi 4.96-98 — Śakti and śaktimān are nondifferent **Śrī Caitanya-caritāmṛta, Madhya-līlā Chapter 8** — Rāmānanda Rāya's conversations with Lord Caitanya: - Madhya 8.98-99 — Rādhārāṇī supreme among gopīs - Madhya 8.160-65 — Her position as mahābhāva-svarūpā - Madhya 8.166-85 — Descriptions of Her transcendental qualities **Brahma-saṁhitā:** - Bs. 5.37 — Rādhā in Goloka with Her companions ## Related Articles - The gopīs of Vṛndāvana — Her expansions and companions - Mother Yaśodā and Kṛṣṇa — Vṛndāvana family - The mercy of Lord Caitanya — Kṛṣṇa in Rādhā's mood - Love for Kṛṣṇa — The goal She embodies - The glories of Vṛndāvana — Her eternal abode ## From the Index - Rādhārāṇī, Śrīmatī — Comprehensive index entry (218 references) - Rādhā & Kṛṣṇa — Their eternal relationship - Rādhā-kuṇḍa — Her sacred bathing place - Gopīs — Her expansions - Gopīs of Vṛndāvana — Meta category
