# The Spiritual World *On Vaikuṇṭha and Goloka Vṛndāvana* --- ### Three-Fourths of Creation > This material world is only one-fourth of Kṛṣṇa's creation. Three-fourths is the spiritual world. So we are living in a very small portion of Kṛṣṇa's creation, and this small portion is full of miseries. But three-fourths—eternal, blissful, full of knowledge. — Śrī Īśopaniṣad, Mantra 6, Los Angeles, 1970 --- ### No Miseries > In the spiritual world there is no birth, no death, no old age, no disease. These four kinds of miseries are absent there. Everyone is eternally living, full of knowledge and bliss. That is the spiritual world. — Janmāṣṭamī Lecture, Montreal, 1968 --- ### Back to Home > There is no other way to escape death and old age and birth. Tyaktvā dehaṁ punar janma naiti mām eti kaunteya. If you always think of Kṛṣṇa, then you are guaranteed that after leaving this body, there is no more material body. You go back to home, back to Godhead. — Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 1.2.6, Vṛndāvana, 1972 --- ### Self-Illuminating > In the spiritual world there is no need of sun, no need of moon, no need of electricity. Everything is self-illuminating. That is the spiritual world. And once you go there, you never come back to this material world. — Śrī Īśopaniṣad, Mantra 6, Los Angeles, 1970 --- ### Our Original Home > The spiritual world is our original home. We have come from there. We are all children of Kṛṣṇa, and Kṛṣṇa's abode is the spiritual world. So we have to go back. This is the mission of human life. — Janmāṣṭamī Lecture, Montreal, 1968 --- ### No Return > Yad gatvā na nivartante tad dhāma paramaṁ mama. Once you go to Kṛṣṇa's abode, you don't come back. You remain there eternally. That is the perfection of life. — Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 1.2.6, Vṛndāvana, 1972 --- ### Vaikuṇṭha > Vaikuṇṭha means "no anxiety." In this material world, everyone is full of anxiety. But in the spiritual world, there is no anxiety. Everyone is simply engaged in loving service to Kṛṣṇa. — Śrī Īśopaniṣad, Mantra 6, Los Angeles, 1970 --- ### Goloka Vṛndāvana > The highest planet in the spiritual world is Goloka Vṛndāvana, where Kṛṣṇa lives with His eternal associates—the gopīs, the cowherd boys, the cows. That is the supreme abode. — Janmāṣṭamī Lecture, Montreal, 1968 --- ### How to Go There > At the time of death, whatever state of being one remembers when quitting his body, that state he will attain without fail. This is the law. If you remember Kṛṣṇa at the time of death, you go back to Kṛṣṇa. — Janmāṣṭamī Lecture, Montreal, 1968 --- ### Practice Now > The whole process of Kṛṣṇa consciousness is to practice remembering Kṛṣṇa. Then at the time of death, naturally you will remember Kṛṣṇa. And if you remember Kṛṣṇa, your life is successful. You go back to Kṛṣṇa. — Janmāṣṭamī Lecture, Montreal, 1968 --- *10 quotes from Śrīla Prabhupāda on the spiritual world* Back to Quotes
