*On the glories and significance of the Bhāgavata Purāṇa*
---
### The Ripened Fruit
> So dharmaḥ svanuṣṭhitaḥ puṁsāṁ viṣvaksena-kathāsu yaḥ notpādayed ratiṁ yadi śrama eva hi kevalam. It is simply waste of time. The whole world is trying to formulate, the United Nation, how to love the nations, one another. But there is no Kṛṣṇa. Therefore twenty years they are trying to unite the nations, but they are simply becoming disunited.

### Hearing Is Essential
> Satāṁ prasaṅgān mama vīrya-saṁvido bhavanti hṛt-karṇa-rasāyanāḥ kathāḥ. You have to hear from the right source. Therefore Vedic literature is called śruti, "by hearing."
— Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 6.1.44, Surat, 1970

### No Material Vision
> The vaiṣṇavas are śuddhādvaitavādī. His vision is pure. Whatever is created by the Lord's energy is not different from the Supreme Lord. He doesn't see the microphone he sees the transformation of the Supreme Lord's energy, therefore how it should be used in the service of the Supreme Lord. That is why the devotee has no material vision or conception. He has spiritual vision.

### Everything Emanates from Kṛṣṇa
> Actually there is nothing as material, because, īśāvāsyam idaṁ sarvam, janmādy asya yato, everything has emanated from the Supreme Personality of Godhead. If it is produced by the Supreme Lord then how can it be mithyā? This is to be considered. This is philosophical consideration. We should approach a qualified guru and try to understand things in right perspective.

### Service of the Mahats
> Mahat-sevāṁ dvāram āhur vimuktes. Mahat-sevā. When you engage yourself in the service of mahat... Mahat means those who are surrendered to Kṛṣṇa. As soon as you surrender, you become a mahat. And one who serves the mahat, for him, dvāram āhur vimuktes. Then his path of liberation becomes open.
— Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 6.1.44, Surat, 1970

### The Path of Darkness
> Tamo-dvāraṁ yoṣitāṁ saṅgi-saṅgam. If you associate with persons who are too much addicted to sense gratification, then you're tamo-dvāraṁ. You must know that you are making progress to the darkness.
— Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 6.1.44, Surat, 1970
---
### A Devotee's Realization
> When one comes to the senses, he says, "My Lord, I wanted to be master, but I became servant of all these propensities." Kāmādīnāṁ. "Not only I became servant, but I executed their orders, illegal orders." Kāmādīnāṁ kati na katidhā pālitā durnideśāḥ. "But now I see that still, they are not satisfied."
— Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 6.1.44, Surat, 1970
---
### Work for Kṛṣṇa
> Here in this material world you have to work. And you have to work means you have to work pious or impious. There are two things—dharma and adharma, lawful or illegal. So you have to work. But if you work for Kṛṣṇa, you are saved. If you work for your sense gratification, you'll become entangled.
— Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 6.1.44, Surat, 1970
---
### The Constitutional Position
> Caitanya Mahaprabhu clearly says, jīvera svarūpa haya nitya kṛṣṇa dāsa. The actual constitutional position of the living entity is that he's eternal servant, eternal servant of God. If he takes that position, then he's safe; otherwise he's not.
— Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 6.1.44, Surat, 1970
---
### Simply Waste of Time
> If you don't love Kṛṣṇa, if you simply love this, simply love that, simply that, it will be never be perfect. Therefore the whole world is confused. They do not know where to repose the love. Therefore Kṛṣṇa is canvassing: sarva-dharmān parityajya mām ekam. "Come here! Love Me! Increase your attachment for Me. Everything will be all right." Otherwise it is simply vague. Śrama eva hi kevalam. Simply waste of time.
