# The pure devotee's characteristics *A pure devotee of the Lord is one who has completely surrendered to Krishna without any material motivation. Such devotees are extremely rare and possess unique transcendental qualities that distinguish them from ordinary religious practitioners. They are equipoised in all circumstances, compassionate to all living beings, and constantly engaged in the Lord's service. By their association, others can also develop genuine devotion.* ## The Pure Devotee Has No Material Desires !sb/2/3/10 !cc/madhya/19/167 ## Characteristics of an Advanced Devotee !sb/3/25/21 !sb/3/25/22 ## The Pure Devotee Is Equal to All !sb/3/29/18 !sb/5/18/12 ## A Devotee Is Tolerant and Compassionate !sb/3/25/23 !sb/4/20/16 ## The Devotee Sees the Lord Everywhere !sb/4/9/13 !bg/6/30 ## Pure Devotees Are Very Rare !sb/6/14/5 !bg/7/19 ## From the Index - Pure Devotee — Characteristics and qualifications - Mahabhagavata — The topmost devotee - Vaishnava — Devotees of Vishnu/Krishna - Sadhu — Saintly persons
