# The nature of liberation *Liberation (mukti) means freedom from the cycle of birth and death and reinstatement in one's original position as an eternal servant of Krishna. While impersonalists seek to merge into the Brahman effulgence, devotees attain a higher liberation — eternal service to the Lord in the spiritual world. Pure devotees, however, do not even desire liberation; they simply want to serve Krishna wherever they may be.* ## Freedom from Material Bondage !sb/1/2/15 !sb/2/2/1 ## Five Types of Liberation !cc/madhya/24/136 !sb/3/29/13 ## Attained Through Devotional Service !bg/18/55 !sb/3/5/47 ## Pure Devotees Do Not Desire Liberation !sb/3/25/34 !sb/9/4/67 ## Superior to Impersonal Liberation !cc/madhya/19/164 !sb/3/25/33 ## Chanting Is the Best Means in This Age !sb/6/2/7 !sb/6/3/24 ## From the Index - Liberation — Mukti - Mukti — Freedom from bondage - Devotional Service — The path to liberation
