# Separation from Krishna
*The feelings of separation from Krishna (viraha or vipralambha) are considered even higher than the feelings of meeting with the Lord. In separation, the intensity of love increases unlimitedly. Lord Caitanya especially demonstrated these transcendental emotions of separation from Krishna, teaching the world the pinnacle of devotional ecstasy. The gopis of Vrindavana are the supreme exemplars of this mood of divine separation.*
