# Deity worship *Deity worship (arcana) is an authorized form of devotional service in which the Lord is worshiped through His sacred image installed in the temple. The Deity is not an idol but the Lord Himself, who kindly appears in a form that conditioned souls can see and serve. Through bathing, dressing, offering food, and worshiping the Deity with love, devotees develop intimate relationships with Krishna. This practice is especially beneficial for those who cannot see God everywhere, as it focuses the mind and engages all the senses in the Lord's service.* ## Authorized and Beneficial !sb/3/25/35 !sb/3/29/16 ## Equal to Meditation on the Lord !sb/3/28/18 !sb/4/8/52 ## Proper Procedures Must Be Followed !sb/4/8/54 !sb/4/8/55 ## Offerings Are Made with Devotion !sb/4/8/56 !bg/9/26 ## Leads to Liberation !sb/3/25/36 !sb/1/9/27 ## Love Is Essential !sb/3/29/24 !sb/3/25/38 ## Related Articles - The importance of Deity worship — Why we worship the form - The temple of the Lord — Sacred space - Prasadam spiritual food — Offering food to the Deity - The nine processes — Arcanam as one of nine ## From the Index - Deity Worship — The process of arcana - Worship — Proper methods - Temple — Center of Deity worship
