[01:53]: condition, therefore He has agreed to take your service, just like a stone.
[01:59]: You can handle stone, you can handle. But you cannot handle this, virat-rupa, the gigantic form.

[03:05]: Stone is also Krishna, that requires a little brain. He can take service in any form.
[03:12]: That is absolute. Because the stone is not different from Krishna.
[03:17]: It is Krishna’s energy. So He is able to take service from you in anyway.
[03:24]: Therefore you have to approach Him authorizedly.
[03:30]: If you imitate a small box in your… write simply the same letter box, red.
[03:38]: That will not go. That will stay there for millions of years.
[03:43]: But the box which is authorized, that will go. Is it clear?
[03:50]: Tell these rascals, “It is not idol worship.”

[04:53]: But still he will do it, still he will commit the same criminal acts.

[05:11]: So therefore if he doesn’t do it then he remains always pure, always pure.
[05:20]: Initiation means he is purified. But if he does not contaminate again, then he remains purified.
[05:28]: But if he purposely contaminates again, that is his fault.
[05:34]: Otherwise during the time of initiation he is completely freed from all sinful reactions.
[05:43]: Completely freed. The spiritual master takes all the reaction of his sinful life.

[08:28]: So therefore all these varieties of life, they are being controlled because…
[08:38]: Not controlled. He accepts to be controlled. Prakrti does not want.
[08:46]: Nature does not want to control you.
[08:49]: Just like police force. Police force is not meant for controlling you. But when you accept
[09:01]: to be controlled by police, when you become a criminal, then police force controls you,
[09:07]: not that police force is made by the government unnecessarily to control you. No.
[09:14]: He’s to help you. Government has arranged policeman in every crossing.
[09:21]: They are wandering in the street. They are meant for helping you.
[09:28]: They are not meant for controlling you.
[09:31]: But when you agree to be controlled by the police, then it will control you.
[09:39]: Prakrteh kriyamanani gunaih karmani sarvasah [Bg. 3.27].
[09:43]: Then you become under the police control, if you become criminal. And what is that criminality?
[09:51]: The criminality is that krsna-bahirmukha
[10:00]: …He wants to glorify the name of the Lord. And some people says that there is no name of God.
[10:12]: How? If Lord Jesus Christ says “Hallowed by Thy name,” there must be name.
[10:20]: The name is there, but he did not pronounce it because the people at that time will not
[10:30]: be able to understand or maybe some reason, but he says there is name.
[10:36]: So we are making this propaganda, Krsna consciousness movement, the
[10:47]: …It is very scientific movement because at the present moment we are all godless,
[10:55]: forgotten what is God and what to speak of His name.
[10:59]: They do not believe in God and what to speak of His name, fame, His place,
[11:07]: His activities, His form, His qualities. How we can know?
[11:13]: There is no educational system about the science of God.
[11:20]: This movement, Krsna consciousness movement, is teaching the science of God.
[11:29]: And if you accept the name of the God, name of God, Krsna-this is also affirmed
[11:43]: in other system also-then you will be able to associate with God immediately.
[11:59]: Because God is Absolute. Absolute means there is no difference.
[12:14]: Just like in the relative world… This is relative world. Material world means the relative world.
[12:24]: Relative world means the son. As soon as I say “the son,” there must be a father.
[12:33]: As soon as I say, “friend,” there must be another man, friend.
[12:41]: As soon as I say, “water,” there must be something as water.
[12:47]: But in the Absolute world, the name water and the water is the same.
[12:55]: This is called Absolute, no different separation.
[13:03]: So in the kingdom of God, the God is God and His son is also God.
[13:11]: There the everything-there is no difference between the name and the substance.
[13:22]: Here in this material world the name and the substance different.
[13:28]: Just like if I am thirsty, I want water, so the water must come to me.
[13:36]: If I simply chant, “Water, water, water,” that will not be effective,
[13:41]: because it is relative world. But in the transcendental world, Krsna is the name of God
[13:56]: and it is God also. So by chanting Hare Krsna, you are directly in contact with God.
[14:09]: This is the meaning of Hare Krsna,
[14:13]: …has got this experience. Therefore I am the enjoyer, purusa. I am changing simply body,
[14:20]: this way or that way. This is my position.
[14:25]: So one who is intelligent, that “I change body and different bodies.
[14:34]: I am eternal, so what is my eternal business?” This is athato brahma jijnasa.
[14:43]: This is called inquiry of the spiritual life. This is very simple thing,
[14:54]: that, “I am simply changing body. Then what is my real position?”
[15:00]: This is intelligent. When a man comes to this position or this platform,
[15:08]: to inquire, “Actually what I am?” that is beginning of human life.
[15:16]: Otherwise, it is animal life. The animal also thinks,
[15:21]: “I am dog,” “I am tiger,” “I am pig.” Or similarly if I think,
[15:27]: “I am Mr. Such and such. I am president, I am this, I am that.”
[15:31]: You are none of these, sir. These are all designations, for the temporary,
[15:37]: for a certain period, ten years, five years, fifty years, utmost hundred years, then finished.
[15:43]: But you are eternal. So here it is said, purusa. “I am purusa. I am enjoying.”
[15:53]: So purusa prakrti-sthah. So long he is in this material body, he bhunkte. Bhunkte means enjoys.
[16:05]: Not enjoyment. We think we are enjoying, but we are suffering actually.
[16:12]: And because we cannot understand what is suffering… Suffering there is.
[16:17]: Sometimes we come to understand. But we are accepting this suffering as enjoying.
[16:24]: …So whatever we are doing in certain type of body in this material world, that is suffering.
[16:35]: That is not enjoying. Because why you are placed? Because I wanted to enjoy life like that.
[16:44]: So purusa prakrti-stho hi bhunkte prakrti-jan gunan [Bg. 13.22].
[16:49]: And this profit is nothing but acceptance of the quality of material nature.
[16:58]: And that is very practical. We can understand. Just like we are getting…
[17:05]: I get, say, fifty-thousand dollars in a check.
[17:12]: So I think that “I have got fifty thousand dollars.” But what is this fifty thousand dollars?
[17:20]: It is a piece of paper. You see? This is called illusion. In this way you study your life, you will see.
[17:29]: If you are sober, if you are actually thoughtful, you will find that
[17:36]: “This is not my life. This is not my life. But I am falsely thinking that I am enjoying life.”
[17:48]: Therefore frustration. Next stage is frustration. Everyone,
[17:55]: we are frustrated because we are in this material world.
[18:01]: That, Prahlada Maharaja said, a great devotee, that… His father asked me,
[18:08]: “My dear boy, what best thing you have learned?” He said, “My dear father…”
[18:15]: He did not say, “father.” His father was first-class materialist. So he addressed him,
[18:21]: “the best of the demons,” because…
[18:26]: …So this Krsna consciousness movement is trying to liberate these foolish persons
[18:34]: who are entangled in this material world and changing one body after another,
[18:42]: sometimes very happy and sometimes very distressed.
[18:47]: …The quality is the same, a drop of Atlantic or Pacific Ocean and the ocean.
[18:54]: If you taste the drop, a small drop, it is salty–you can understand that the ocean is also salty.
[19:05]: But the containing, the contents of salt, that is very small, and the contents of salt
[19:16]: in the ocean, that is very big. That you cannot imagine. It is like that.
[19:24]: God is like you and me, a person. But He is Pacific Ocean; we are drop. That’s all.
[19:36]: Yes? What is your question? This gentleman, yes.
[19:55]: He wants to know what the doctrine of Krsna consciousness is.
[19:59]: Krsna consciousness means that you are part and parcel of Krsna, or God,
[20:04]: you being separated, I have already explained, you are suffering in this material world.
[20:12]: So you back to your father, go back to your father and be happy. That’s all.
[20:41]: You are saying that God is spirit, we are spirit and what follows from there?
[21:02]: So we’re spiritual ideas of God so therefore the material state of mind.
[21:17]: So what is the question?
[21:57]: In the Srimad-Bhagavatam, it says that Krsna did not want us to come to this material world.
[22:05]: The question is, “If Krsna did not want us to come, why are we here?”
[22:09]: Yes. You forced Krsna to allow you to come. Just like sometimes a child forces the father.
[22:20]: Father says, “My dear son, do not do this. Do not go there.” But he insists,
[22:25]: “Father, I must go. I must go.” “All right, you go at your risk. That’s all. And you suffer.
[22:33]: What can be done?” Because you are son of God-God has got independence,
[22:44]: full independence, almighty-therefore you have acquired the quality of your father.
[22:49]: You have got little independence. So God does not interfere with your little independence.
[22:58]: If you persist that “I must go and enjoy independently,” so God says, “All right, you can go.”
[23:07]: This is the position. You have to take sanction. That is a fact. But when you persist, God sanctions.
[23:18]: And you come and enjoy. Beginning from Lord Brahma down to the worms in the stool,
[23:28]: gradually, according to your work, according to your desire, you manufacture
[23:35]: your different types of body and enjoy and suffer. That’s all.
[23:43]: Your devotees say that you aim to get beyond the disease of material existence.
[23:50]: I don’t quite pick up what your process was for doing this, and could you tell me
[23:57]: what the end result is once you do get beyond this.
[24:05]: What is that?
[24:07]: In Krsna consciousness, the process is to get beyond the disease of material existence.
[24:15]: The first part of his question is how to do this, the second part of this question,
[24:19]: “What is the end result after taking to the process?”
[24:24]: The process is to transfer yourself from material energy to spiritual energy.
[24:37]: We are under energy. God has got two energies-material energy and spiritual energy.
[24:48]: We are also energy. We are marginal energy. So marginal energy means we can
[24:59]: remain under the material energy or on the spiritual energy, as we make our choice.
[25:07]: Marginal… Just like on the beach you find sometimes on the border of the water,
[25:18]: the water is covering the land, and sometimes the land is open.
[25:24]: This is called marginal position. Similarly, we are marginal energy of God, living entities.
[25:37]: So we can remain under the water, means material energy,
[25:44]: or we can remain open also, in spiritual energy.
[25:49]: What is our view of Lord Jesus Christ?
[25:54]: Jesus Christ, Lord Jesus Christ, he is son of God, the best son of God,
[26:01]: we have all respect for him, yes.
[26:06]: Anyone who is teaching people about God consciousness, he is respectful to us.
[26:16]: It does not matter in which country, in which atmosphere he was preaching.
[26:23]: It doesn’t matter.
[26:56]: St. Francis, the founder of this particular order which we have been invited to speak to,
[27:04]: found God in the material world. And he used to address the aspects of the material world
[27:11]: as “brother” and “sister.” “Brother tree,” “sister water,” like that. What is your view upon this?
[27:20]: This is real God consciousness. This is real God consciousness, yes, not that
[27:27]: “I am God conscious, and I kill the animals.” That is not God conscious.
[27:38]: To accept the trees, plants, lower animals, insignificant ants even, as brothers…
[27:48]: Samah sarvesu bhutesu. This is explained in the Bhagavad-gita.
[27:54]: brahma-bhutah prasannatma na socati na kanksati samah sarvesu bhutesu
[28:02]: Samah. Samah means equal to all living entities, to see the spirit soul, anyone…
[28:09]: It doesn’t matter whether he is man or cat or dog or tree or ant or insect or big man.
[28:20]: They are all parts and parcel of God. They are simply dressed differently.
[28:27]: One has got the dress of tree; one has got the dress of king; one has got the, insect.
[28:34]: That is also explained in the Bhagavad-gita. Panditah sama-darsinah: [Bg. 5.18]
[28:39]: “One who is pandita, learned, his vision is equal.”
[28:44]: So if St. Francis was thinking like that, that is highest standard of spiritual understanding.
[28:54]: The gross dress or coat and the subtle dress.
[28:58]: The gross dress is made of five material elements: earth, water, fire, air, ether,
[29:10]: and the subtle dress is mind, intelligence and ego…
[29:57]: …It is only practice.
[30:10]: On account of illicit sex there are so many troubles, so many troubles.
