[02:15]: Hallowed be thy name, my Lord Krishna, the Personality of Godhead.
[02:23]: Let your holy name be glorified. This is our movement.
[02:29]: It is not a sectarian, it is a very scientific movement.
[02:35]: Scientific movement because at the present moment, we are all Godless.
[02:42]: Forgotten what is God, and what to speak of His name. They do not believe in God,
[02:50]: and what to speak of His name, fame, His place, His activities, His form, His qualities,
[02:58]: how we can know? There is no educational system about the science of God.
[03:08]: This movement, Krsna Consciousness movement, is teaching the science of God.
[03:16]: God is absolute. Absolute means there is no difference.
[03:29]: Just like, in the relative world, this is relative world.
[03:35]: Material world means relative world. Relative world means the son.
[03:43]: As soon as I say the son, there must be a father. As soon as I say friend,
[03:52]: there must be another man, friend. As soon as I say water, there must be something as water.
[04:02]: But in the absolute world, the name “water” and the water is the same.
[04:10]: This is called ‘absolute.’ No different separation.
[04:17]: So in the Kingdom of God, God is God, and His son is also God.
[04:27]: So, by chanting Hare Krishna, you are directly in contact with God.
[04:36]: This is the meaning of Hare Krishna.
[04:39]: We think we are enjoying, but we are suffering, actually.
[04:43]: And because we cannot understand what is suffering, suffering there is.
[04:49]: Sometimes you come to understand, but we are accepting this suffering as enjoyment.
[04:56]: A man is working very hard, very hard, whole day. This is not enjoyment.
[05:08]: You have got a car. You are running at 70 miles speed, going to your business,
[05:17]: and there you are earning a hundred and thousands of dollars,
[05:20]: so you are thinking that you are enjoying, but this labor is suffering, you forget.
[05:28]: And in order to forget this suffering, then I take to wine, take to this, take to that,
[05:35]: to forget this suffering. So actually we are suffering, but we are accepting it as enjoying.
[05:41]: This is called illusion.
[05:42]: Anyone who is very much sensuous, very much attached to sense gratification, they are called demons.
[05:51]: And those persons who do not indulge in sense gratification but utilize
[06:02]: this body, this life, for God realization, Krishna realization, they’re called gods.
[06:09]: There are two classes of men, demons, and gods.
[06:14]: Those who are engaged in God consciousness, they are not God, but godly.
[06:20]: And those who are not…because this human life is meant for this purpose,
[06:26]: are forgetting our father, forgetting our God.
[06:29]: We are criminals within this material world. Therefore, our only business,
[06:37]: is how to get out of this prison house, and go back to home, back to Godhead.
[06:43]: God is like you and me, a person. But He’s pacific ocean, we are drop, that’s all.
[06:52]: The question was in Srimad Bhagavatam, which is a scripture that we study,
[06:56]: it says that Krishna did not want us to come to this material world.
[07:01]: The question is, if Krishna did not want us to come, why are we here?
[07:06]: Yes. You forced Krishna to allow you to come.
[07:11]: Just like sometimes a child forces the father. Father says,
[07:18]: “My dear son, do not do this, do not go there.” But he insists, “Well, I must go, I must go.”
[07:24]: “Alright, you go, at your risk.”
[07:26]: That’s all, and you suffer, what can be done?
[07:33]: Because you are son of God, God has got independence, full independence, almighty.
[07:42]: Therefore you have acquired the quality of your father. You have got little independence.
[07:49]: God does not interfere with your little independence.
[07:54]: Beginning from Lord Brahma down to the worms in the stool, gradually,
[08:03]: according to your work, according to your desire, you manufacture your different types of body.
[08:09]: And enjoy and suffer, that’s all.
[09:28]: Indriya means senses, we cannot understand what is Krishna, or God. His name,
[09:40]: His form, His attributes, His pastimes, we cannot understand by these blunt material senses.
[09:49]: Then how it is to be understood? After all, this human life is meant for understanding God.
[09:58]: That is the only business of human life.
[10:02]: The nature, material nature, gives us this opportunity to have this human form of life.
[10:16]: The facility of this life, of this form of life, is given to us just to understand God.
[10:30]: Other forms of life, cats and dogs, trees, and so many other things. There are 8,400,000 forms
[10:42]: of life. So in other forms of life it is not possible to understand what is God.
[10:51]: If we call all the dogs of your country, “come here, we shall talk about God.”
[11:03]: But there is no possibility of understanding. But in the human form of life,
[11:10]: there is possibility. Doesn’t matter whether it is in India or America or Australia.
[11:19]: Any human being, if he tries, and if he reads the scriptures: never mind, Bible,
[11:32]: Bhagavad-Gita, Bhagavatam, then he will understand God.
[11:36]: The beginning of the Srimad Bhagavatam. Absolute truth is that.
[11:46]: from whom everything has come into existence. Now, what is the nature of the absolute truth?
[11:55]: Everything means there are two things. Matter and spirit. Two things.
[12:05]: Just like this table is matter. We, living entities, we are spirit. We are spirit soul.
[12:20]: This material body is my covering. Just like dress. Everyone of us is dressed.
[12:30]: Covered by some kind of dress. Similarly, all living beings, they are dressed by the material covering.
[12:42]: So we, the spirit soul, part and parcel of God.
[12:48]: At the present moment, we are covered by two kinds of dresses.
[12:54]: Subtle dress: mind, intelligence, and ego, and the gross covering.
[13:02]: Subtle means we know there is this thing but we cannot see.
[13:09]: Just like you know I have got mind and I know you have got mind,
[13:14]: but I don’t see your mind and you don’t see my mind.
[13:16]: I know you have got intelligence, and you know I have got intelligence,
[13:22]: but we don’t see what is that intelligence. Similarly, identification.
[13:30]: I am this consciousness. Then also you have got consciousness, I have got consciousness.
[13:37]: But we don’t see. So things which are not visible to these material eyes, that is called subtle.
[13:48]: The spirit soul is still subtle.
[13:53]: So, human life is meant for understanding that spirit soul and the Supreme Soul.
[14:06]: In Krishna Consciousness, the process is to get beyond the disease of material existence.
[14:16]: The first part of his question, how to do this, second part of his question,
[14:21]: what is the end result after taking to this process.
[14:24]: The process is to transfer yourself from material energy to spiritual energy.
[14:36]: We are under energy. God has got two energies. Material energy and spiritual energy.
[14:47]: We are also energy. We are marginal energy. So, marginal energy means we can
[14:59]: remain under material energy or on the spiritual energy.
[15:03]: As we make our choice, marginal, just like on the beach you find sometimes on the border
[15:16]: of the water, the water is covering the land and sometimes the land is open.
[15:23]: This is called marginal position. Similarly, we are marginal energy of God.
[15:34]: Living entities. So we can remain under the water means material energy,
[15:42]: or we can remain open also, on spiritual energy.
[15:48]: What is our view of Lord Jesus Christ?
[15:54]: Jesus Christ, Lord Jesus Christ? He’s son of God. The best son of God.
[16:00]: So we have all respect for him. Yes.
[16:04]: Saint Francis, the founder of this particular order which we have been invited to speak to,
[16:17] found God in the material world, and used to address the aspects of the material world as
[16:24] brother and sister. Brother tree, sister water, like that. What is your view upon this?
[16:31]: Real God consciousness. It is real God consciousness.
[16:36]: Not that I am God conscious, and I kill the animals. That is not God consciousness.
[16:46]: To accept the trees, plants, lower animals, insignificant ants even, as brother.
[17:03]: This is explained in the Bhagavad-Gita.
[17:14]: Sama means equal, to all living entities, to see the spirit soul.
[17:21]: Anyone, it doesn’t matter whether he is man, or cat, or dog, or tree, or ant, or insect, or big man.
[17:32]: They are all part and parcel of God. They are simply dressed differently.
[17:39]: One has got the dress of tree, one has got the dress of king, one has got insect.
[17:46]: That is also explained in the Bhagavad-Gita.
[17:51]: One who is pandit, his vision is equal.
[17:57]: So, if St. Francis was thinking like that, that is higher standard of spiritual understanding.
[20:58]: Should we turn back, Prabhupada? -Yes
[21:05]: What does this sound mean?
[21:08]: It means to begin to roll. Action. It means action.
[21:13]: When they snap that it’s the beginning of the shooting.
[21:22]: The boy who is following the cart, in the red, is making one documentary film all about
[21:29]: your stay here in Australia. Then it will be distributed to the government. Actually this is
[21:35]: an independent film, you can put it into library, people can get it for their schools, colleges.
[21:57]: To understand Krishna is very difficult job. Krishna has personally said in the Bhagavad-Gita.
[22:10]: Out of many, many millions of persons, not only at this age, in the past also.
[22:20]: Out of many millions of persons, one is trying to become perfect.
[22:29]: Generally, they have no knowledge what is perfection. Perfection they do not know.
[22:38]: The perfection means to stop this process of birth, death, old age, and disease.
[22:47]: That is called perfection. Everyone is trying to be perfect
[22:52]: but they do not know what is perfection.
[22:54]: Perfection means this: that when you are free from these four imperfections.
[23:04]: What is that? Birth, death, old age and disease.
[23:08]: Nobody wants to die. But there is forcefully, “You must die.” That is imperfection.
[23:17]: But these rascals, they do not know. They think that we must die.
[23:22]: But no, because you are eternal. You are not meant for death.
[23:28]: But nature is forcing you–must die.
[24:19]: His navel is like lotus flower, His eyes are like lotus flower, His feet, lotus feet.
[24:30]: So lotus is the comparison of the beauty of different limbs or parts
[24:41]: of the transcendental body of Krishna
[24:46]: God is the supreme being, full with six kinds of opulences. Therefore, He attracts everyone.
[25:00]: This is the definition of the word ‘Krishna.’
[25:05]: This Bhagavad-Gita is spoken by Krishna, the perfect person.
[25:14]: The pains and pleasures, on account of this material body, we have to feel.
[25:21]: But if we come to the spiritual platform, that is understanding of the soul.
[25:28]: Then in any condition we shall be happy.
[25:40]: Do you consider your movement the major form of enlightenment emanating from
[25:45]: the United States today? What order of priority is your movement in the White House
[25:53]: psychological warfare department? Also, do you plan to attend our July 4th
[25:59]: demonstration again this year to try and ….. it up and divert people away from taking
[26:05]: up real political issues concerned with Australian government?
[26:12]: One question at a time. I can answer them for you if you like.
[26:14]: Our movement is not coming from the United States.
[26:16]: If you have a paranoia, a stigma around everything coming from the United States,
[26:24]: that’s your hang-up, not mine. Second of all, our spiritual master, he came to the United
[26:34]: States to start this Krishna Consciousness movement because he got a free ticket
[26:41]: on a boat to go there. And because of the mercy of this one lady who gave him the free
[26:46]: ticket on the boat, he came to America on the orders of his spiritual master.
[26:52]: This is the reason he came to America to start Krishna Consciousness.
[26:56]: If you had extended him a free ticket he probably would have come to Australia first.
[27:00]: He was a penniless monk in India, and he was trying to follow the orders of his spiritual
[27:07] teacher by spreading love of God.
[27:10]: Some people would say that Krishna Consciousness is too austere. It should be taken in stages.
[27:19]: What is there austere? You are starving?
[27:25]: We say don’t eat meat. Is it very great austerity?
[27:35]: No illicit sex. We don’t say no sex. Illicit sex. Where is the austerity?
[27:50]: Devotees, they must rise early in the morning, take cold bath.
[27:54]: That is healthy. Because early to rise, early to bed, early to rise makes a man healthy and wise.
[28:04]: That’s fact. What to speak of early to rise, I practically don’t sleep at night.
[28:16]: Only two hours. Still, I go up early in the morning. What is so wrong? No, I don’t sleep in.
[28:50]: So everything is alright? Give him these flowers.
