**Prabhupāda:** > bhāgavatārambhe vyāsa maṅgalācaraṇe > 'parameśvara' nirūpila ei dui lakṣaṇe > [[cc/madhya/20/358|[Cc. Madhya 20.358] ]]
We have been discussing about the symptoms, characteristics, of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. One characteristic is that is eternally constant, or present with Him, and another characteristic is that it is sometimes manifested, sometimes not manifested. These two characteristics are called the superior energy and the inferior energy. Manifestation of the superior energy is always constant, present in the Supreme Personality of Godhead. And manifestation of the inferior energy, that is not always present. It is sometimes manifested, sometimes not manifested.
Just like we have got also... It is very easy to understand. We have got several energies, personally. And we have got some mean energy also that is within us. That is not always manifested. Sometimes I commit theft. That is my energy. That is my energy, but it is not always manifested. This is a crude example.

This song was sung by Narottama dāsa Ṭhākura, a great devotee-*ācārya* in the disciplic succession of Gauḍīya Vaiṣṇava sampradāya. Gauḍīya Vaiṣṇava sampradāya means the disciplic succession who are coming down from Lord Caitanya. So this Narottama dāsa Ṭhākura has written many songs, and it is recognized as a authority by all the Vaiṣṇavas. He has sung the songs in simple Bengali language, but the purport and the deep meaning of the song is very significant.
He says, *gaurāṅga bolite habe pulaka-śarīra.* This is the perfection of chanting, that as soon as we chant or take the name of Lord Gaurāṅga, who initiated the *saṅkīrtana* movement, at once there will be a shivering in the body. So it is not to be imitated. But Narottama dāsa Ṭhākura is recommending when that opportune moment will come to us, that as soon as we shall chant Lord Gaurāṅga's name, there will shivering in the body. And, after the shivering, *hari hari bolite nayane ba'be nīr,* while chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa there will be tears in the eyes.
Then again he says *āra kabe nitāicand karuṇā karibe.* We are all asking about the mercy of Lord Nityānanda. Nityānanda is supposed to be the original spiritual master. So we have to approach Gaurāṅga, or Lord Caitanya, through the mercy of Lord Nityānanda. So what is the symptom of a person who has achieved the causeless mercy of Lord Nityānanda?

**Pradyumna:Translation:** "Arjuna said: O my dear Kṛṣṇa, I wish to know about prakṛti, nature; puruṣa, or the enjoyer; and the field and the knower of the field; and of knowledge and the end of knowledge. The Blessed Lord then said: This body, O son of Kuntī, is called the field, and one who knows this body..., who knows this body is called the knower of the field."* [Bg 13.1–2]
**Prabhupāda:** Hm. *Kṣetra-kṣetra-jñam.* Just like we are living in this apartment and we know that I am not this apartment, but I am living in this apartment. The people say that because the Supersoul or the soul is living within this body, therefore the body is soul.
This is not very good argument. That is being cleared by Kṛṣṇa Himself. *Idaṁ śarīraṁ kaunteya kṣetram ity abhidhīyate* [[bg/13/2|[Bg. 13.2] ]]. Kṣetra. Kṣetra* means land or a place. So *idaṁ śarīraṁ kaunteya kṣetram ity abhidhīyate.* And, the next line?

**Jaya-hari:** Prabhupāda?, this morning you talked about astrology in your lecture. Is this accepted in the Vedic scripture and by the *gurus*?
**Prabhupāda:** Oh, yes. Astrology means... That is also Vedic. *Jyotir-veda. Jyotir-veda.* That is also part of the *Vedas.* [break] The *brāhmaṇas,* they learn these three things: astrology and medicine. These two things. A *brāhmaṇa* is supposed to go to every householder's place, and he will inform, "Today is such-and-such *tithi.* The such-and-such thing should be done."
And if required, if somebody inquires about "Now I am going to that place. What will happen? Just find out the auspicious moment," so they will give him. Still it is current. It may be wrongly done or rightly, but the system is still there, astrologer. The king should be always accompanied by a first-class astrologer. [break] ...there is a whole street, both sides simply astrology. [break] ...good astrologers.

**Nitāi:** *Oṁ namo bhagavate vāsudevāya.* *Oṁ namo bhagavate vāsudevāya.* *Oṁ namo bhagavate vāsudevāya.* [**Prabhupāda and **devotees repeat] [leads chanting of verse, etc.]
"Thus, after manifesting variegatedness, the effulgent mahat-tattva, which contains all the universes within itself, which is the root of all cosmic manifestations and which is not destroyed at the time of annihilation, swallows up the darkness which covered the effulgence at the time of dissolution."
**Prabhupāda:** > viśvam ātma-gataṁ vyañjan > kūṭa-stho jagad-aṅkuraḥ > sva-tejasāpibat tīvram > ātma-prasvāpanaṁ tamaḥ > [[sb/3/26/20|[SB. 3.26.20] ]]

**Prabhupāda:** It is free. Everything is free. We are not going to charge anything. Retired man, come here, take this spiritual education. This is our whole system. [greets guest] Hare Kṛṣṇa.
**Prabhupāda:** It is completely educational. Spiritual education. *Tathā dehāntara-prāptiḥ* [[bg/2/13|[Bg. 2.13] ]]. It is not religious sentiment. Some Arya-samajis told me in Durban, South Africa, that "Why you are bringing this Hindu idea?" And this is not your Hindu idea. Kṛṣṇa said, *kaumāraṁ yauvanaṁ jarā.* Does it mean that only Hindus, from boyhood they become youth, and the Mussalman does not? What is this nonsense? People are so misguided they cannot understand this simple word, this spiritual education. They say Hindu idea, that only the Hindu boys grow to become young men. The Muslim, the Christian, they do not grow up. Just see how much in darkness they are and how much they require this education. How the world is in need of this spiritual education. And they cannot understand it. Just see how they are dull and rascal-headed. Hindus grow only. Huh? *Dehino 'smin yathā dehe kaumāraṁ yauvanam...* [[bg/2/13|[Bg. 2.13] ]]. Kṛṣṇa said from boyhood to *yauvanam.* It is Hindu idea. The Arya-samaji friend told me, "Why you bring this Hindu idea?" How much dull they are, just imagine.
**Prabhupāda:** And who becomes fanatic? All rascals, dull. They become fanatic. Otherwise, why one should be fanatic? If one has got brain, one has got logic, how he should be fanatic? Fanatics means dull-headed rascal, that's all. The Muslims they become fanatic, we say, generally they are, because they're dull-headed. Always unclean and eating meat and low behavior. What is that? *Pravṛttiṁ ca nivṛttiṁ ca janā na vidur āsurāḥ, na śaucaṁ nāpi cācāraḥ* [[bg/16/7|[Bg. 16.7] ]]. This is dull head. There is no cleanliness, no behavior.* [Transl. Just like pigs. They have no proper behavior. They live in filthy places. And do not discriminate whether mother, sister or daughter, just have sex with anybody. Whole day they wander about looking for stool and fill their stomach with it.] That is especially mentioned, that *ayaṁ deha. Nāyaṁ deho deha-bhājāṁ nṛloke kaṣṭān kāmān arhate viḍ-bhujāṁ ye* [[sb/5/5/1|[SB. 5.5.1] ]].
