# December 5 *Lectures from this day: 9 recordings* --- **[[spoken/661205cc.ny|Cc. Madhya 20.125] ]] So after understanding our relationship with Kṛṣṇa... Every understanding has its ultimate goal. So the understanding is that we are eternally related with Kṛṣṇa. Forgetting this relationship, we are now engaged in relationship with this material body, which I am not. Therefore I have to revive my activities which is directly in relationship with Kṛṣṇa. And that is called to act in Kṛṣṇa consciousness. And development of that Kṛṣṇa consciousness will be ended in love of..., full love of Kṛṣṇa. When we reach that stage, love of God, love of Kṛṣṇa, then we love everyone, because Kṛṣṇa is everyone. Without coming to that central point, our love on the material conception of life—equality, fraternity, brotherhood—are all simply cheating process. That is not possible. So come to that stage. --- **[[spoken/721205le.ahm|Rotary Club Lecture, Bhagavad-gītā 2.24 — December 5, 1972, Ahmedabad]]** **Prabhupāda:** Rotarians, Ladies and Gentlemen, I thank you very much for your kindly inviting me this evening to speak something on *sanātana-dharma.* *Sanātana* means eternal, and *dharma* also means eternal characteristic. Just like every ingredient, element, of this world has got a certain type of characteristic. As I have been introduced, I was manager in a chemical factory. So you know... ...that every chemical has got a certain characteristic—its color, its taste, its granules. In pharmacology and pharmaceutical formulas, each and every chemical is tested according to that characteristic. --- **[[spoken/731205in.la|Initiations — December 5, 1973, Los Angeles]]** **Prabhupāda:** What are the prohibited rules? [break]Yes. And how many rounds you'll chant, minimum? **Prabhupāda:** Thank you. So your name is Praśasya dāsa. Praśasya means one who observes the rules and regulation. **Prabhupāda:** Hmm? Citraka. [*japa*] You should offer obeisances. Yes. That is the etiquette. So what are the rules and Costas: [indistinct] --- **[[spoken/731205mw.la|Morning Walk — December 5, 1973, Los Angeles]]** **Prabhupāda:** ...has done a great mistake. I never expected that... [indistinct] ...all of a sudden... [break] You see the so-called *svāmīs* and *yogīs—*they could not do anything, because they are outsider. They are not within the jurisdiction of Kṛṣṇa. One must remain within the jurisdiction of Kṛṣṇa. Then his spiritual life is assured. Otherwise, [indistinct]. [break] Similarly, everything, everyone belongs to Kṛṣṇa's family, but we have to see what he's doing for Kṛṣṇa. Just like everyone is citizen of the state. Why a man is given high position and big title? Why? Because he's recognized. **Prabhupāda:** So one must give service. Simply to feel, "I belong to Kṛṣṇa's family" and doing nothing for Kṛṣṇa, that is not... **Prabhupāda:** That's not good. That is not good. That means he'll... Very soon he'll again forget Kṛṣṇa. He'll again forget Kṛṣṇa. --- **[[spoken/731205sb.la|SB 1.15.27 — December 5, 1973, Los Angeles]]** **Prabhupāda:** Where is **Paṇḍitjī**? **Paṇḍitjī** is not here?Devotee: *Oṁ namo bhagavate vāsudevāya.* *Oṁ namo bhagavate vāsudevāya.* *Oṁ namo bhagavate vāsudevāya.* [**Prabhupāda and **devotees repeat] **Prabhupāda:** [interrupting chanting] *Cittam* [pronounces *cityam*]. *H*aranti smarataś cittaṁ.* Go on. His senses are freed from all other engagements, and he becomes absorbed in devotional service. Is it not *sevā?* They are remaining in darkness of their position, and we are giving them this knowledge. This is not *sevā?* **Prabhupāda:** Yes, poor, hungry, come. We can give you food. We are giving, already. Show the pictures. You have not seen the pictures of Māyāpur, how two thousand, three thousand people we are giving? That is included. *Bhāgavata-sevā* includes that. You do not require to do it separately. It is already there. Just like if you pour water on the root, the watering the leaf is included. But if you water the leaf, then that tree will dry. And that is not complete. But if you pour water on the root of the tree, it is complete. Why don't you give this reason? This is natural. If you give food to the stomach, the service of the other parts of the body is included. But if you give food to the eyes, it is spoiled only. The food is spoiled, the eyes are spoiled, and nobody is satisfied.
