## Spoken on November 24
*Lectures from this day: 5 recordings*

**[1974: Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 3.25.24](spoken/1974/741124sb.bom)**
> Therefore Kṛṣṇa says... How to become Kṛṣṇa conscious? *Yat karoṣi:* "Whatever you do," *kuruṣva tad mad-arpaṇam,* "the result you give Me." Then it will be Kṛṣṇa consciousness. You always think that you are doing for Kṛṣṇa. Of course, by the order of Kṛṣṇa or by His representative, not whimsically. If you do something nonsense and if you think that "I am doing for Kṛṣṇa," that will not be accepted. It must be verified by the acceptance of Kṛṣṇa and Kṛṣṇa's..., or Kṛṣṇa's representative. Arjuna did not fight without Kṛṣṇa's order. Therefore we must receive the order. If we say that "We do not find Kṛṣṇa. How shall I...?" then Kṛṣṇa's representative. That is *sādhu.* The Kṛṣṇa's representative is *sādhu.* Therefore Kapiladeva is advising herewith that "You, mother, you associate with *sādhus.*"
> So everything can be attained very nicely and easily simply by this *sādhu-saṅga. Sādhu-saṅga*.* Therefore we repeatedly say that we are trying to create some *sādhu* so that in different parts of the world they will preach Kṛṣṇa consciousness, and people will be able to associate with them, and they will become purified. This is Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement, that *sādhu-saṅga.* It is very essential. People are suffering on account of being contaminated by the *tamo-guṇa* and *rajo-guṇa,* becoming entangled simply by lusty desires always, just like cats and dogs. So they are becoming more and more entangled. Unfortunately, they do not know that there is life after death, but they do not know what kind of life is going to happen next after death. They are blind, *andha. Andhā yathāndhair upanīyamānāḥ*.

**[1975: Śrī Caitanya-caritāmṛta, Madhya-līlā 6.154](spoken/1975/751124cc.bom)**
> So He has got potency. He is not *niḥ śakti.* He has got *śakti. Parāsya śaktir vividhaiva śrūyate svābhāvikī jñāna...* Everything is happening on account of His potency. Just like in your body so many things are happening on account of potency, similarly, the gigantic universal form of the Lord—His potencies are working. Everything is happening. The tree is coming out, the fruit is coming out, the flower is coming out, the color is painted—everything. *Svābhāvikī jñāna-bala-kriyā ca. Na tasya kāryam karaṇaṁ ca vidyate.* He hasn't got to do anything personally, but His potencies are acting. *Na tasya kāryam karaṇaṁ ca vidyate. Na tat-samas cābhyadhikaś ca dṛśyate.* Nobody can be equal to Him or greater than Him. *Sama. Asama-ūrdhva.* In the *Bhagavad-gītā* it is explained that Kṛṣṇa is *asama-ūrdhva.* Nobody is greater than Him, and nobody is equal to Him. So anyone who is claiming equal to Him, they are less intelligent. They have no intelligence. *Asama-ūrdhva. Na tasya samaḥ.* Nobody is equal to Him, neither *urdhva.* Kṛṣṇa says, *mattaḥ parataraṁ nānyat* : "Nobody is greater than Me." Therefore God is great. If somebody is equal to Him or greater than Him, then he is not God. God is Kṛṣṇa.
> So we were discussing other night about the three principal energies of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. There are multi-energies. *Parāsya śaktir vividhaiva śrūyate svābhāvikī jñāna-bala-kriyā ca [Cc Madhya*13.65*, purport].* From *śruti* we understand that the Supreme Lord is full of potencies. Even we are. We are a small particle of the Supreme Lord; still, we are full of potencies. Just like you shave today, and tomorrow morning, by your own potency, the hairs again grown. We see actually things are happening. How it is happening, that we do not know, even in our body. But it is a fact it is happening. Things are happening. That means due to my potency. As soon as I leave this body there will be no more hair growth. The potency is gone. So as we are a small particle, *mamaivāṁśo jīva-bhūtaḥ...*. *Jīva,* the living entity, is a very small particle, one ten-thousandth part of the top point of hair. *Keśāgra-śata-bhāgasya śatadhā kalpitasya ca*.

**[1975: Morning Walk](spoken/1975/751124mw.bom)**
> This is Vaiṣṇava aspiration. *Bhavantam eva caran nirantaraḥ:* "Twenty-four hours simply carrying Your orders." And you can do it. But it is not possible; the mind is checking. *Praśānta-niḥśeṣa mano-rathāntaram.* Unless one's mind is fixed up, he cannot become servant of God. *Kadāham aikāntika-nitya-kiṅkara.* "In this way, when I shall be absolutely Your servant and live very joyfully, that 'I have got my master'?" This is Yāmunācārya's verse. [*Stotra ratna* 46]
> > bhavantam eva caran nirantaraḥ
> > praśānta-niḥśeṣa-mano-rathāntaraḥ
> > kadāham aikāntika-nitya-kiṅkaraḥ
> > praharsayīśyāmi sanātha-jīvitam
> >
[1976: Room Conversation](spoken/1976/761124r1.vrn)**
> Mahāvīra*:* But if it was heard by them, they would accept it, but because there are so many cheaters and rascals, that it's all been..., they're so afraid of all of it, because there's been so much cheating and different philosophies and *gurus* and false *gurus* and that.
> Sarva-bhāvana*:* Well, there won't be any change, Prabhupāda. And they were not satisfied with that change, so..., and they wanted to remain in that particular service.
---
**[1976: Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 5.6.2](spoken/1976/761124sb.vrn)**
> Therefore *tā'ra madhye jihvā ati.* Simply for the tongue we are committing so much sinful activities and becoming implicated, because implication means there is no God consciousness, no Kṛṣṇa consciousness. Two things are there: one is God, and one is the repetition of birth and death. There is no third way. Either you take God... This chance... This is a chance. This human form of life is a chance. Either you go back to home, back to Godhead, or go to hell. I think Christians also, they say. Two things are there. And in our *śāstra,* Kṛṣṇa says, *Bhagavad-gītā, mām aprāpya nivartante mṛtyu-saṁsāra-vartmani*. Two things are there. Either go this way or that way. Either go to hell or go to heaven. This is the general, yes. *Asat-saṅga-tyaga,-ei vaiṣṇava-ācāra*.* So if you are serious about going back to home, back to Godhead, we must be educated how to control the senses, how to control the senses. Therefore while eating, we are reminded that this eating is... If you do not take it as *prasādam,* then eating is sense enjoyment.
> Bhakti-yoga* means *vairāgya.* As far as possible to deny material necessities, that is *vairāgya.* It is called *vairāgya-vidyā.* Śrīla Sārvabhauma Bhaṭṭācārya has said, *vairāgya-vidyā-nija-bhakti-yogam*. Vairāgya-vidyā. Bhakti-yoga* means *vairāgya. Bhaktiḥ pareśānubhavo viraktir anyatra syāt*.* This is *bhakti-yoga:* no more any necessity for material things. *Niṣkiñcinasya bhagavad-bhajanonmukhasya.* There are so many. Rūpa Gosvāmī, Sanātana Gosvāmī, they were liberated persons. Even Caitanya Mahāprabhu, He's God Himself, but still, to teach us, He was observing the regulative principles of a *sannyāsī* very, very strictly. These things, to teach us... Similarly, Haridāsa Ṭhākura, he's called Brahma-Haridāsa. Sometimes he is called Yavana-Haridāsa. *Yavana* means Muslim or those who are not in the Vedic principles, *yavana, mleccha.* Just like we have seen some temples, our foreign devotees are not allowed, because they have got the rules that *mlecchas* and *yavanas,* because they are very unclean, they should not be allowed. But that should not be applicable to the devotees of this Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement, because they have learned how to remain clean, how to follow the... At least, they are expected. They promised at the time of initiation, "Yes, I shall not do this. I shall not do this." So if he's actually following the rules and regulations, he is no more unclean—simply by chanting.
