## Spoken on November 11
*Lectures from this day: 13 recordings*

**[1966: Bhagavad-gītā 9.2](spoken/1966/661111bg.ny.md)**
> And *samaḥ sarveṣu bhūteṣu:* and his vision of life is that he does not see anybody rich, poor, or fool, or educated, or so many dualities there are in the material world. He has nothing. His vision is completely on the spiritual platform. He sees that every living entity is a part and parcel of Kṛṣṇa. Therefore he tries to take them back to Kṛṣṇa consciousness. He has no distinction that "He is *brāhmaṇa,*" "He is *śūdra,*" "He is Indian," "He's American," or "He's black," "He's white," or "He's educated" "He's noneducated." No. "Everyone should come to Kṛṣṇa consciousness." That is his viewpoint. *Samaḥ sarveṣu bhūteṣu.* When one is qualified in that way, then *mad-bhaktiṁ labhate parām.* Lord Kṛṣṇa says, "Then he becomes eligible for becoming a pure devotee of Kṛṣṇa."
> Rāja-vidyā. Vidyā* means education, and *rāja* means king. So what is the king of education? Just like we have got a different status of life in the material world, similarly, in the education also, somebody is M.A., somebody is B.A., somebody is school-leaving certificate, somebody three years, somebody four years. There are different grades of education. Now, what is the *summum bonum*, highest, topmost education? This topmost education is Kṛṣṇa consciousness, topmost education. *Rāja-vidyā. Jīvātmā yathātmādi-rahasyānāṁ rājaḥ.* Real knowledge is: "So what I am." This is real knowledge. Unless we come to this point, that "What I am," that is not knowledge.

**[1971: Paṇḍāl Lecture](spoken/1971/711111le.del)**
> You are finding out so many problems in your life within the duration of life, say 50 or 60 years at the utmost 100 years. But your eternal problem is this, Kṛṣṇa says, *janma-mṛtyu-jarā-vyādhi-duḥkha-doṣānudarśanam.* You are eternal, you living soul, *na hanyate hanyamāne śarīre, na jāyate na mriyate vā kadācin*. These informations are there, you haven't got to take birth, you do not require to die, *na hanyate hanyamāne śarīre,* you live forever. But this is the real problem and there is no scientist, no education, no university, why this problem is not solved? If I am not dying after. After the annihilation of this body, what solution is there? They do not know, therefore they are *mūḍhās*. They are very much proud of their education and making solution but this is the real problem *janma-mṛtyu-jarā-vyādhi-duḥkha-doṣānudarśanam.*
> Na māṁ duṣkṛtino mūḍhāḥ prapadyante narā. Duṣkṛtinaḥ* this very word is very significant, people are engaged in sinful life therefore they cannot understand what is God. And the four principles of sinful life is described in the *śāstra*; *striya-sūnā-pāna-dyūta yatra pāpāś catur-vidhā*. Four kinds of sinful life, illicit sex life is actually very sinful and unnecessary killing of animals, or meat-eating. Why human beings should eat meat? Kṛṣṇa says;

**[1971: Conversation](spoken/1971/711111r1.del)**
> But nobody is prepared to take it. Kṛṣṇa says: > sarva-dharmān parityajya > mām ekaṁ śaraṇaṁ vraja > ahaṁ tvāṁ sarva-pāpebhyo > mokṣayiṣyāmi > [[bg/18/66|[Bg. 18.66] ]] "Just take shelter of Me and I will protect you from the reactions of all sinful life." Because here in the material world everyone is sinful—and there is reaction.

**[1971: Room Conversation](spoken/1971/711111r2.del)**
> [Transl. He who is the cause of all causes, He is formless! That is material conception, not spiritual understanding. The problem is...Just like this my shirt or coat, it has got one hand or two hands. Because I do have hands therefore it has got hands. The cloth was cut and stitched with two hands.] They have been cut with two hands because I have got really two hands. [*Bhagavad-gītā* tells us that this body,] *vāsāṁsi jīrṇāni yathā vihāya*. [Transl. As one gives up his old cloth and puts on a new cloth, similarly this dress-shirt or coat have been compared with this body. If the body has a form, as I said about coat or shirt, then how the owner of the body is formless? Do you understand it? The coat has hands because I have hands. So this material body is, according to the *śāstra*, like coat or shirt. So my origin, I am spirit soul, if I have no form then how this body of mine has form? Just like this table, it has been covered by a cloth and it looks like table. Because the table has got shape therefore the cloth also got the shape of the table. Similarly, we, the living entities, we have got form, therefore our bodies which are compared to shirt or coat have forms. So how can the living entities be formless? And the Supreme Lord says,] *mamaivāṁśo jīva-bhūta*. [Transl. Bhagavān's part and parcel...Just like my part and parcel is my son. I am part and parcel of my father. Bhagavān says, *mamaivāṁśo*. So how can Bhagavān be formless? And Bhagavān Himself declares] *avajānanti māṁ mūḍhāh, mānuṣīṁ tanum āśritam*.
> Bhāgavata* is the graduate study, not ordinary study. But these professionals, they take advantage of the weakness of the people, and they make profession and earn some money. That's all. When we speak of *Bhāgavata* we speak from First Canto, Second Canto, Third Canto..., the nine cantos to understand Kṛṣṇa. Just like in First Canto the beginning, *janmādy asya yataḥ*, *oṁ namo bhagavate vāsudevāya, janmādy asya yataḥ*. This is *Vedānta-sūtra* verse. *Paraṁ satyaṁ dhīmahi.* [Transl. So what is the absolute truth? From Whom this material world comes into existence and remains? Gradually one should understand this. Only the you will achieve perfect knowledge of Kṛṣṇa.] Then you'll understand what is *kṛṣṇa-līlā*. [end]

**[1972: The Nectar of Devotion](spoken/1972/721111nd.vrn)**
> Idaṁ hi viśvaṁ bhagavān ivetaraḥ.* Prahlāda Mahārāja..., yes, Nārada Mahārāja said that "This world is Kṛṣṇa." *Idaṁ hi viśvaṁ bhagavān ivetaraḥ.* "But it appears like that it is different from Bhagavān." Actually, there is... For a *mahā-bhāgavata,* he has no such conception, material conception, because he sees everywhere Kṛṣṇa. *Sthāvara-jaṅgama dekhe nā dekhe tāra mūrti*.
> So therefore *śāstra* says, "Here, this material world, we are entangled. We are encaged in this material world only for this sex life." That is Cupid. Cupid is the god of sex life, Madana. Unless one is, what is called, induced by Madana, the Cupid, he cannot be, I mean to say, engladdened in sex life. And Kṛṣṇa's name is Mādana-mohana. *M*ādana-mohana* means that one who is attracted to Kṛṣṇa, he'll forget the pleasure derived from sex life. This is the test. Therefore His name is Mādana-mohana. Here is Mādana-mohana. Sanātana Gosvāmī worshiped Mādana-mohana. *Madana* or *M*ādana*. Mādana* means to become mad. And Madana, the Cupid.

**[1972: Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 1.2.32](spoken/1972/721111sb.vrn)**
> So in this way, the whole world is going on. *Samo 'haṁ sarva-bhūteṣu na me dveṣyo 'sti na priyaḥ*. Kṛṣṇa says, "I am equal to everyone. I don't..., I'm not envious of everyone..., er, anyone, or I am friendly to everyone." He's friendly. Actually He's friendly. But people say, accuse Him: "Why God has created this distress? Why I am suffering?" You are suffering for your own fault. God created you to become happy. He's happy. You are part and parcel of Kṛṣṇa. You should be happy. But you don't accept the way of happiness. That is your fault. You don't accept...
> Similarly, we create our own fortune and misfortune. *Ye yathā māṁ prapadyante tāṁs tathaiva bhajāmy aham*. So the father wants us to do something else, but we want to do something else against the wish of the father. Similarly, Kṛṣṇa wants that every one of us should surrender unto Him and work according to His direction, but we want to do against His will. Therefore we create our own fortune and misfortune. That is the way.

**[1973: Chanting Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 5.5.6–16](spoken/1973/731111ch.del)**
> evaṁ manaḥ karma-vaśaṁ prayuṅkte
> avidyayātmany upadhīyamāne
> yāvan na prītir mayi vāsudeve
> na mucyate deha-yogena tāvat
> yadā na paśyaty ayathā guṇehāṁ
> svārthe pramattaḥ sahasā vipaścit
> gata-smṛtir vindati tatra tāpān
> āsādya maithunyam agāram ajñaḥ
---
**[1973: Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 1.2.6](spoken/1973/731111sb.del)**
> That Kṛṣṇa says in the *Bhagavad-gītā: patraṁ puṣpaṁ phalaṁ toyaṁ yo me bhaktyā prayacchati*. Patram,* a little leaf, or a little water or little flower or little fruit—*patraṁ puṣpaṁ phalaṁ toyam—*if you offer to Kṛṣṇa, "My Lord, My Kṛṣṇa, I am very poor man. I cannot give You anything. But I have collected a little fruit, little flower, little water. So I have come to offer You," Kṛṣṇa says, "Yes," *tad aham aśnāmi, tad ahaṁ bhakty-upahṛtam aśnāmi prayatātmanaḥ*. He is not hungry, but He wants your love. He wants your love. That is... Therefore He comes, personally He comes. *Yadā yadā hi dharmasya glāniḥ*. What is that *dharmasya glāniḥ*? When people forget how to love God, that is *dharmasya glāniḥ.* Not that other.
> Similarly, God is one for everyone. Kṛṣṇa says in the *Bhagavad-gītā, sarva-yoniṣu kaunteya. Sarva-yoniṣu* means 8,400,000 species of forms. *Sarva-yoniṣu kaunteya sambhavanti mūrtayo yāḥ*. There are as many forms. *Tāsāṁ mahad yonir brahma ahaṁ bīja-pradaḥ pitā.* He says *aham,* "I am. I am the seed-giving father." *Mamaivāṁśo jīva-bhūtaḥ*. "Every living entity, they are My part and parcel, as the sons, daughters, they are part and parcel of the father." Therefore in some religion God is addressed as the supreme father. Actually, He is supreme father.
---
**[1974: Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 3.25.11](spoken/1974/741111sb.bom)**
> Kṛṣṇa is staying in everyone's heart. *Īśvaraḥ sarva-bhūtānāṁ hṛd-deśe arjuna tiṣṭhati*. Sarvasya cāhaṁ hṛdi sanniviṣṭaḥ*. Kṛṣṇa says, "I am residing in everyone's heart." He is witness. *Upadraṣṭā anumantā. Upadraṣṭā.* He is seeing all our activities. We cannot hide anything. Therefore we get the resultant action of our *karma.* Because the witness is Kṛṣṇa Himself within your heart, how you can avoid? *Upadraṣṭā, anumantā.* And without Kṛṣṇa's permission, you cannot do anything. So why Kṛṣṇa gives permission to do something wrong? Because we want to do it. We persist. Kṛṣṇa does not say that you do anything else than to "Surrender to Me." He says only these things, *sarva-dharmān parityajya mām ekam...*.
> Therefore father says, *mayādhyakṣeṇa prakṛtiḥ sūyate sa-carācaram*. Kṛṣṇa says, the supreme father, *ahaṁ bīja-pradaḥ pitā*. He's the supreme father. You don't care for father. Therefore... The nature is working under the direction of the supreme father. That's a fact. So if you do not care for your father, then the result will be nature will reduce supply. Reduce supply. Nature will not allow to the demons to flourish. No. That is not allowed. *Tān ahaṁ dviṣataḥ krūrān kṣipāmy ajasram andha-yoniṣu*. The demons are always liable to be punished. Some big, big demons like Rāvaṇa, Hiraṇyakaśipu, the Lord personally comes to punish them. Otherwise, the ordinary demons, they are punished by the laws of nature. Kṛṣṇa does not require to come to punish these petty demons. But when there is big, big demons like Rāvaṇa, like Hiraṇyakaśipu, like Kaṁsa, then Kṛṣṇa or Lord Rāmacandra, They come to punish them.
---
**[1975: Morning Walk](spoken/1975/751111mw.bom)**
> They gave up everything. *Bhūtvā dīna-gaṇeśakau karuṇayā kaupīna, gopī-bhāvāmṛta...* Then, in Vṛndāvana, they were thinking of the *gopīs'līlā.* So after giving up all these things, again they were thinking of material things? *Gopī-bhāvāmṛtābdhi-lahari-kallola-magnau.* So they were thinking of *gopīs'* pastimes with Kṛṣṇa. So after giving up everything material, again material? Caitanya Mahāprabhu said, *ramyā kaścid upāsanā vraja-vadhubhir yā kalpitā.* So [*Śrī Caitanya-mañjusā*] Caitanya Mahāprabhu, after so much renunciation, so much *vairāgya* and strict following the *sannyāsa* rule, again He is recommending *gopī?* This is foolishness. *Gopīs' līlā* with Kṛṣṇa is completely spiritual. They do not understand. They think it is material. Therefore it is better not to go there. First of all become experienced in spiritual life; then try to understand *gopīs' līlā.* [break]
> So *māyā's* business is to cover you more and more as you forget Kṛṣṇa. This is *māyā's* business. So therefore, expansion of *māyā's* influence means forgetting Kṛṣṇa. *Tomāra bhajane bādhā.* They're all the hindrances only to make spiritual progress and to understand God.
---
**[1976: Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam Lecture](spoken/1976/761111sb.vrn)**
> So that is *śuddha-sattva. Śamo damo satyaṁ anugraha.* The *brāhmaṇa's* business is *anugraha,* to be just like Prahlāda Mahārāja. Prahlāda Mahārāja is unhappy for others. *Śoce tato vimukha-cetasa māyā-sukhāya bharam udvahato vimūḍhān* : "I am thinking of these rascals. They are making so many gorgeous arrangements, big, big skyscraper, big, big roads, and thousands of motorcars." *Māyā-sukhāya.* "They will enjoy this life for fifty years, sixty years, thirty years, and making big, big arrangements." *Māyā-sukhāya bharam udvahato vimūḍhān*: "I am thinking of these rascals, that they forget the real business, what is the problem of life. They are busy in erecting, constructing big, big skyscrapers." Not only now; formerly also the *vimūḍhān,* the rascals... *Viśeṣa mūḍha.* Kṛṣṇa says *mūḍha. Na māṁ prapadyante mūḍha.* And Prahlāda Mahārāja stresses more: *vimūḍhān,* first-class *mūḍhās*. Yes. *Vimūḍhān.* So anyone who does not take to Kṛṣṇa consciousness and is busy in other business, he's a *vimūḍhān.* Don't remain a *vimūḍhān.* Become intelligent. *Kṛṣṇa ye bhaje sei baḍa catur.* Be the first-class intelligent man and be Kṛṣṇa conscious.
> Kṛṣṇa claims, *ahaṁ bīja-pradaḥ pitā.* Kṛṣṇa has relationship not only in the human society, in animal society, in bird society, in plant society, in insect society, in demigod society. *Ahaṁ bīja-pradaḥ pitā, sarva-yoniṣu kaunteya*. He doesn't claim that "I am interested with the Indians or the Hindus or the *brāhmaṇas* or this." No. He claims all forms of body. So therefore these foreigners, so-called foreigners, they have got already relationship with Kṛṣṇa. *Nitya-siddha kṛṣṇa-bhakti.* Every living entity has got relationship with Kṛṣṇa. Kṛṣṇa says, *mamaivāṁśo jīva-bhūtaḥ*. How they can be separate? It is not possible. But they forgot it. And this Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement is to revive their original consciousness. *Śravaṇādi-śuddha-citte karaye... * :
