"Śrīla Rūpa Gosvāmī begins his great book by offering his respectful obeisances unto Śrī Sanātana Gosvāmī, who is his elder brother and spiritual master, and he prays that *Bhakti-rasāmṛta-sindhu* may be very pleasing to him." **Prabhupāda:** Our... Śrīla Rūpa Gosvāmī wanted to please Sanātana Gosvāmī. Our duty is to please the superior, not the public. We are giving service to the public according to the direction of the superior authority. We do not manufacture any program of service. That is not our business. Whatever is ordered by the... Just like Caitanya Mahāprabhu. Caitanya Mahāprabhu, He's Kṛṣṇa Himself. --- **[[spoken/721027r1.vrn|Room Conversation — October 27, 1972, Vṛndāvana]]** **Prabhupāda:** So these people, the *sahajiyās,* they have become dogs and hogs. Now after this life... For their sinful activities they have become dogs and hogs. Now unconsciously as dogs and hogs they are taking advantage of the Vṛndāvana land. Now they become. Now they will become pure devotees. Just like we see in the life of Bharata Mahārāja: so much austerity, and because a little attachment for the deer, the next life he was taken[?]. The next life he was taken[?], Yamala-arjuna; they became trees. But on account of staying in Vṛndāvana, next life [indistinct]. So we should be intelligent. Why should we take another chance of becoming hogs and dogs? But that requires intelligence. Ultimately they will be delivered, but it will be delayed by becoming hogs and dogs once. --- **[[spoken/721027sb.vrn|SB 1.2.16 — October 27, 1972, Vṛndāvana]]** **Pradyumna:** *Oṁ namo bhagavate vāsudevāya.* [leads chanting of verse] [**Prabhupāda and **devotees repeat] *śuśrūṣoḥ*—one who is engaged in hearing; *śraddadhānasya*—with care and attention; *vāsudeva*—in respect to Vāsudeva; *kathā*—the message; *ruciḥ*—affinity; *syāt*—is made possible; *mahat-sevayā*—by service rendered to pure devotees; *viprāḥ*—O twice-born; *puṇya-tīrtha*—those who are cleansed of all vice; *niṣevaṇāt*—by service. --- **[[spoken/741027sb.may|SB 1.8.47 — October 27, 1974, Māyāpur]]** **Pradyumna:** *Oṁ namo bhagavate vāsudevāya.* *Oṁ namo bhagavate vāsudevāya.* *Oṁ namo bhagavate vāsudevāya.* [devotees repeat] [leads chanting of verse, etc.] **Translation:** "King Yudhiṣṭhira, son of Dharma, overwhelmed by the death of his friends, was aggrieved just like a common, materialistic man. Bhagavān means... *Bhaga* means opulence. Just like we use the word *bhāgyavān.* From this *bhāgya,* "fortune," comes from the word *bhaga.* So personally the Supreme Bhāgyavān, or Bhagavān... Bhagavān is never unfortunate. If somebody claims that he is Bhagavān, but Bhagavān is never unfortunate. He is always fortunate. *Ṣaḍa iti bhagaṅganā* [*Viṣṇu Purāṇa* 6.5.74]. There are six kinds of opulences. Which one possesses in full, He is called Bhagavān. There is meaning. So we have several times explained: *aiśvaryasya samagrasya vīryasya yaśasaḥ śriyaḥ* [*Viṣṇu Purāṇa* 6.5.74]. The Supreme Personality of Godhead, because He is the proprietor of all wealth, *sarva-loka-maheśvaram,* He is the proprietor of all the planets, all the universes, so who can be fortunate than Him? *Bhoktāraṁ yajña-tapasāṁ sarva-loka-maheśvaram* [[bg/5/29|[Bg. 5.29] ]].* If you have got one *lakh* shillings or one ten *lakh* shillings, we think we have become very rich. But Kṛṣṇa says, *sarva-loka-maheśvaram:* "I am the proprietor of all the planets." So who can become richer than Him? Therefore He is Bhagavān. The highest rich man, the richest person, is called Bhagavān. Nobody can claim that he is the richest. That is not possible. So one who claims that "I am the richest. Nobody is equal to Me, and nobody is greater than Me," He is Bhagavān. *Mattaḥ parataraṁ nānyat kiñcid asti dhanañjaya* [[bg/7/7|[Bg. 7.7] ]]: --- **[[spoken/751027sb.nai|SB 3.28.18 — October 27, 1975, Nairobi]]** **Harikeśa:** Page number 1192. *Oṁ namo bhagavate vāsudevāya.* *Oṁ namo bhagavate vāsudevāya.* *Oṁ namo bhagavate vāsudevāya.* [devotees repeat] *Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam,* Third Canto, Twenty-eighth Chapter, text number eighteen. Eh, one must fall down. So Brahmā fell down, and his four heads touched the lotus feet of Kṛṣṇa, and with ecstasy, and he was crying. It is to be taken as of his head..., of Kṛṣṇa's lotus feet. Hmm.
