So, *svayaṁ bhagavān,* Kṛṣṇa, *kṛṣṇas tu bhagavān svayam* [[sb/1/3/28|[SB. 1.3.28] ]]. We have many times explained the word *bhagavān. Bhagavān* means six opulences: riches and..., *aiśvaryasya samagrasya vīryasya,* potency; *vīryasya yaśasaḥ,* fame, reputation; *aiśvaryasya samagrasya vīryasya yaśasaḥ śriyaḥ* [*Viṣṇu Purāṇa* 6.5.74], beauty; *jñāna,* knowledge; and *vairāgya,* detachment.
When one is full with all these six opulences, He's God. So people try to get the opulences. Everyone is trying by *karma, jñāna, yoga.* But nobody can attain the opulences in full strength. That is not possible. So the simple definition of God is that one who is in full six opulences, He's God. That has been analyzed by great saintly persons, including Lord Brahmā, and it has been decided that the all the six opulences can be found in Kṛṣṇa.

**Nitāi:** *Oṁ namo bhagavate vāsudevāya.* *Oṁ namo bhagavate vāsudevāya.* *Oṁ namo bhagavate vāsudevāya.* [devotees repeat] [leads chanting of verse, etc.]
"Others say that since both Vasudeva and Devakī prayed for You, You have taken Your birth as their son. Undoubtedly You are unborn, yet You take Your birth for their welfare and to kill those who are envious of the demigods."

**Prabhupāda:** *Oṁ namo bhagavate vāsudevāya.* We are reading one chapter from *Bhagavad-gītā*, Thirteenth Chapter. The subject matter is nature, the enjoyer and consciousness. In Sanskrit it is called *kṣetra-kṣetra-jña* [[bg/13/27|[Bg. 13.27] ]]. Kṣetra* means the field. Just like an agriculturist, they work on the field. The worker or the agriculturist owns the land, and he works there, and according to his labor he enjoys the fruits. Similarly, we have been given this body as the field of activity. Every one of us, not only human being, but also other living entities...
There are eight million four hundred thousand forms of living entities. *Jalajā nava-lakṣāṇi.* In the water there are nine hundred thousand forms of living entity. Then, *jalajā nava-lakṣāṇi sthāvarā lakṣa-viṁśati* [*Padma Purāṇa*]. *Sthāvarāḥ* means the living entities who cannot move, just like the trees, plants, grass, vegetables. They are standing in one place. They are also called "having no leg." *Ahastāni sahastānām apadāni catuṣ-padām.* This is nature's law, that the living entities which have no hands, they are eatable for the living entities who have hands. *Ahastāni sahastānām apadāni catuṣ-padām.* And the living entities which cannot move, they are the food for the living entities which has got four legs. *nunam* *mahatāṁ tatra jīvo jīvasya jīvanam.* [[sb/1/13/47|[SB. 1.13.47] ]] In this way, the weak is the food for the strong.
This is the law of nature, that one living entity is the food for another living entity. So when a person eats another living entity, it is not unnatural. This is nature's law. But when you come to the human form of living entity, you must use your discrimination. Just like one living entity is food for the another living entity, it does not mean... In the lower animals sometimes the father-mother eat the offspring, but in the history of human society it has not come into notice that the father-mother eating the offspring. But time has come when the mother is killing offspring. That has come already. This is due to Kali-yuga.

**Prabhupāda:** Yes, out of curiosity only, not to accept your philosophy: "What this Swāmījī is speaking?"
**Prabhupāda:** Objection is that they will not be allowed to drink tea. That is objection. No cigarette, no even tea. They think it is impossible. All, they are Indian house. Eh?
**Puṣṭa Kṛṣṇa:** Some live upstairs here. But all of these people who are living in this area have to move out.

Puṣṭa Kṛṣṇa: This side, coming from the oil countries, coming down the coast, and also coming... [break]
Puṣṭa Kṛṣṇa: In the cold weather, a few hours. They put on these black suits made out of a certain fabric—it's called a wet suit—and they are able to stay in the water much longer. It insulates, insulates the body from the cold water.
**Prabhupāda:** *Bhakti-rasāmṛta-sindhu.* [break] ...*karma-bandha-phāṅsa:* one after another. [*Prārthanā* 41.3] *Asate vilāsa:* material enjoyment means implicated in unnecessary activities. If people are satisfied plain living, then these things are not necessary: go into the ocean, find out oil, then bring it in the port, then distribute it, so many, one after another. That, this kind of civilization, they think it is advanced. And to live very plainly, minimizing this unnecessary activity, they think it is not civilization.

**Prabhupāda:**...the world is false. But our protest is that if Brahman is real then how can the world be false? In the very beginning of Vedānta-sūtra this point has been discussed. *Athāto brahma-jijñāsā:* [Vedānta-sūtra 1.1.1] This human life, what is the difference from animal life? The difference is the dog simply barks, eats, produces puppys, and after some time it dies.
Between human beings and animals there is no difference of these four things. The dog eats, I also eat. The dog sleeps, I also sleep. The dog begets puppys, enjoys sex with female dog, I also do. And the dog becomes afraid of the enemies, I also become afraid of the enemies. Then what is the difference? The only difference is that the hman being can inquire about Brahman or God in the human society. *Athāto brahma-jijñāsā:* What is God, how the world is functioning, whether there is any proprietor of it or not, if anyone is conducting it or not? These questions arise only in the hearts of the human beings. But the dog doesn't know all this. This is the distinction. No other distinction. Therefore *śāstra* declares,

**Hari-śauri:** It's someone who has, by his personality, who has very attractive power or influence.

**Tamāla Kṛṣṇa:** This... At noontime you seemed to be getting a little taste. Did you have a little? You said gradually.
**Tamāla Kṛṣṇa:** So I don't think there is any problem. I mean, what you ate today was more than I saw you eat in three months, Śrīla Prabhupāda. You ate a Love Feast today. So whenever we eat a Love Feast, we never have much appetite in the evening. Usually we simply chant.
**Bhakti-cāru:** [Transl. *Śrīla Prabhupāda after you took that juice yesterday you had cough.]**Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: Maybe your sister can suggest some good drink.
