**[1968: Lecture](spoken/1968/681004le.sea)**
> So there is like that, and that is Kṛṣṇa. If you can simply understand Kṛṣṇa, then your knowledge is perfect, you understand everything. You understand science, you understand mathematics, you understand chemistry, physics, astronomy, philosophy, literature, everything. It is so nice. So *Bhāgavata* says therefore that *saṁsiddhir hari-toṣaṇam*. Whatever department of knowledge or whatever department of activities you are engaged in, it doesn't matter. But if you can find out the Supreme by your pursuit of knowledge, that is your perfection.
> Therefore it is said in the *Bhagavad-gītā, yaṁ labdhvā cāparaṁ lābhaṁ manyate nādhikaṁ tataḥ*. If anyone can approach or gain that Supreme Absolute, then he will be satisfied and he will say, "Oh, I have no more hankering. I have got everything complete, in full satisfaction." *Yaṁ labdhvā cāparaṁ lābhaṁ manyate nādhikaṁ tataḥ yasmin sthite.* And if one is situated in that transcendental position, then what happens? *Guruṇāpi duḥkhena na vicālyate.* If there is very severe test of distress, he's not, I mean to say, faltering.

**[1972: Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 1.3.29](spoken/1972/721004sb.la)**
> In the *Bhagavad-gītā* it is said, *raso 'ham apsu kaunteya* : "I am the taste of water." Now, you are drinking water hundreds times. So as soon as you taste water, how nice it is, you can immediately see God, Kṛṣṇa: "Oh, here is Kṛṣṇa. Here is Kṛṣṇa." So how do you say that "Can you show me Kṛṣṇa?" You can see. Here is the process. You adopt it. You taste water, and when you enjoy the taste, that taste is Kṛṣṇa. Kṛṣṇa says, "I am this taste." Then where is the difficulty to see Kṛṣṇa? There is no difficulty. The people say, "Can you show me God?" God is everywhere, in every moment, in every step. You do not like to see Him. That is the difficulty.
> Simply you require to purify your eyes to see God. Otherwise, God is everywhere. It is not that God has to be searched out some long, long... He's in... Of course, His real abode is long, long distant, but still, He is within your heart. *Īśvaraḥ sarva-bhūtānāṁ hṛd-deśe 'rjuna tiṣṭhati*.
---
**[1973: Room Conversation with Indian Guest](spoken/1973/731004r1.bom)**
> So they're all in the material world. None of them are perfect. Between Brahmā and ant, there are millions of other living entities, 8,000,000. Not only 1,000,000; millions—8,400,000's forms of life. They're all imperfect because they have accepted this material body, either Brahmā or ant. But your perfection will come when you do not accept this material body. That is the, I mean to say, the destination of *Bhagavad-gītā.* Kṛṣṇa says, *tyaktvā dehaṁ punar janma naiti* : "After quitting this body, he does not accept any more this material body." This, that means he, he becomes perfect. That is stated in another place, *saṁsiddhiṁ paramāṁ gatāḥ. Saṁsiddhiṁ paramāṁ gatāḥ.*
> So the other gentleman not yet..., not has yet come, our Asnani. So let him come. Then we shall begin talking. So it is not a fact that two millions of years ago, there was no living entity. This is all rascaldom. Time is immemorial, and many, many millions of years ago there were living entities, more perfect living entities. They're still living. But we have no information. Just like Brahmā. Brahmā's one twelve hour, if you believe in the *Bhagavad...,* statement of *Bhagavad-gītā... Sahasra-yuga-paryantam ahar yad brahmaṇo viduḥ*.

**[1975: Morning Walk](spoken/1975/751004mw.mau)**
> Therefore it is not pleasure. It will give him pain, so many aftereffects. Sex life, even it is not illicit, still it is painful, aftereffects. You'll have to take care of the children. You have to bear children. That is painful. You have to pay to the hospital for delivery, then education, then doctor's bill—so many painful. So this pleasure, sex pleasure, is followed by so many painful things. *Tāpa-karī [Cc Ādi* 4.63]. The same pleasure potency is there in the living being in little quantity, and as soon as they utilize it, it becomes painful. And the same pleasure potency in the spiritual world, Kṛṣṇa's dancing with *gopīs,* that is not painful; that is pleasing. [break]...man, if he takes nice foodstuff it is painful. If a diseased man, if he takes...
> Without any discrimination you can say. *Mandāḥ sumanda-matayo*. Now how the government will be good? This is also bad. Mahāprabhu's name is Patita-pāvana; He is delivering all bad men. In the Kali-yuga there is no good men at all—all bad. Strong you will have to become to deal with all bad men.
---
**[1975: Room Conversation](spoken/1975/751004r1.mau)**
> Because this is *Kali-yuga,* people are so fallen, so downtrodden, so rascal, cats and dogs. It is very difficult. But this process—chanting of Hare Kṛṣṇa *mahā-mantra,* giving them chance to hear it and take *prasādam*—that will cure. And that is easily accepted by anyone. It doesn't matter what he is. Anyone will accept. To chant and dance and take *prasādam*—no one will disagree. So this is the process. When they come to the temple... Just like these boys. You are offering obeisances; they are also offering. But that will go to their credit, to become *bhakta.* This policy should be adopted. Not in the beginning. But in the beginning give them *prasādam,* chant Hare Kṛṣṇa. And try to sell some book. You pay something. That means he is giving some service, the hard-earned money. That will also go to his credit. And then, when he'll concerned that "I have paid for it. Let me see what this nonsense has written. All right. Read." And that will also convince him. This is the way. He'll keep this body..., book, and show some friend, so the infection will go on.
---
**[1975: Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 7.5.31](spoken/1975/751004sb.mau)**
> So Kṛṣṇa says, *dehino 'smin yathā dehe kaumāraṁ yauvanaṁ jarā, tathā dehāntara-prāptiḥ*. Dehāntara-prāptiḥ* is there, information. So how can we deny that there is no life after death? There is. But nobody is caring to understand, "What is my next life? What is going to happen? Today I may be in a very big position, and tomorrow, if I am going to be a tree..." Here we are sitting very comfortably in this room. Just a few yards after, there is a tree. He cannot move an inch even, and he has to stand there in cyclone, in scorching heat, in everything. Why? We are... Both of us, we are living entities. Why he has got this body, I have got this body, and one may have better body than me? Why there are so many, 8,400,000 species of life, and different position? Why this is? There is no such inquiry. There is no such knowledge. Therefore they have been described here as *andhā,* blind.
> So we have to take information from the authoritative literature what is the position of this material world, the spiritual world, God and His relationship with us, our position. This is real knowledge, not that a knowledge that how to live. Living condition is fulfilled by the nature's way. There are 8,400,000 different forms of living entities. They are not concerned how to eat, how to sleep. They know, by nature's arrangement there is already arrangement. Just like the birds in the morning. They rise up early in the morning. They are not concerned where they will eat. They know there is already arrangement for eating. The elephants in Africa, they know that God has already arranged for their eating forty kilos at a time. The ants within the room, they know there is already arrangement. So if God has arranged for everyone, eight million different species of life or forms of life, why not for human being? There is arrangement. But in the human being is advised to do certain things. They must do it. Then there is no question of scarcity. There is... Everything is arranged there. Just like Kṛṣṇa says, *annād bhavanti bhūtāni* :

**[1976: Room Conversation](spoken/1976/761004r1.vrn)**
> You should maintain the temple. They already call it *angrej* [English] temple. But still people come. But if you make a *mleccha* temple... Actually, [laughs] they can say like that, but still they come. But their awe and veneration may be disturbed..., may not be disturbed. That is management.
> Śrī-vigrahārādhana-nitya-nānā-śṛṅgāra-tan-mandira-mārjanādau.* That is compulsory. It must be done by you or me or... It must be done early in the morning. Whole temple should be... There is sufficient water supply in the pipe. Simply it takes half an hour. It is neglected. I see the temple is not washed. There's so much dust.
---
**[1976: Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 1.7.44](spoken/1976/761004sb.vrn)**
> That is the system. You cannot overrule *ācārya. Ācārya... Ācāryopāsanam. Ācārya* should be always worshiped. Even if you, by A-B-C-D, you have become more learned than the *ācārya...* That is not possible, but if you foolishly think like that, still, you should not exhibit your foolishness, that you know more than the *ācārya.* That is Caitanya Mahāprabhu's... By His life example He has taught us that the more we remain ignorant, foolish, before the *ācārya* or before the *guru,* that is more we advance. Real success is how one is faithful to his *guru.* That is real success. *Yasya deve parā bhaktir yathā deve tathā gurau.* It is not by education or grammatical knowledge you can learn anything. No. It is by the grace of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. And that grace comes down through the grace of *guru.* That grace also does not come directly. We should not be neglecting this point.
> Therefore Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura says, *yasya prasādād bhagavat-prasādaḥ.* Not that *bhagavat-prasāda* is achieved by education and grammar. No. *Yasya prasādād bhagavat-prasādaḥ.* By the mercy of *guru* one can achieve. That is just like a common word, "If you love me, love my dog." So you cannot approach Kṛṣṇa without loving His dog, His servant. *Satāṁ prasaṅgāt.* A person who is trying to distribute the message of Kṛṣṇa, he is very, very dear dog of Kṛṣṇa. *Na ca tasmān manuṣyeṣu kaścin me priya-kṛttamaḥ*.
