**Prabhupāda:** > kāṅkṣantaḥ karmaṇāṁ siddhiṁ > yajanta iha devatāḥ > kṣipraṁ hi mānuṣe loke > siddhir bhavati karma-jā > [[bg/4/12|[Bg. 4.12] ]]
People, they are naturally following leadership, but they do not want to follow the leadership of Śrī Kṛṣṇa, because they want immediate relief from the miseries of this world. They do not want a permanent solution of all miseries. Kṛṣṇa..., if we accept the leadership of Kṛṣṇa, then in this very life we can make a solution of all the miseries of material existence. But instead of following the leadership of Kṛṣṇa, we accept leadership which is also indirectly the leadership of Kṛṣṇa, but it is misrepresented because on account of contamination of this material nature.
Material nature is inferior, or lower, nature. Constitutionally, we are following the leadership, but we want immediate, temporary relief for our miseries. We do not want permanent solution of all miseries. That is the defect of our life. But here is a chance. If we follow the leadership of Kṛṣṇa, then we make a solution of the whole miseries. *Kāṅkṣantaḥ...,*

**Prabhupāda:** > ...caitanya prabhu-nityānanda > śrī-advaita gadādhara > śrīvāsādi-gaura-bhakta-vṛnda
So Śrī Kṛṣṇa Caitanya is full representation of Kṛṣṇa in six aspects. That is... In the beginning of *Caitanya-caritāmṛta* it has been explained, *vande 'haṁ gurūn īśam īśāvatārakān īśa-bhaktān, prakāśāṁś ca tac-chaktīḥ* [*Cc Ādi* 1.1], like that.

**[[spoken/710727bs.ny|Śrī Brahma-saṁhitā, Verse 33 — July 27, 1971, New York]]**
**Prabhupāda:** *Govindam ādi-puruṣaṁ tam ahaṁ bhajāmi.* This verse, *aṅgāni yasya sakalendriya-vṛtti-manti* [Bs. 5.32], we have explained. Next verse is *advaitam acyutam anādim ananta-rūpam* [Bs. 5.33]. There are thirty-six verses in this record. You have chanted only three verses, three or four. Huh?
Kṛṣṇa, He has got multiforms. We are also Kṛṣṇa's forms, *vibhinnāṁśa.* There are two categories of forms, Kṛṣṇa's: *viṣṇu-tattva* and *jīva-tattva. Viṣṇu-tattva,* a Kṛṣṇa person, and *jīva-tattva,* separated personalities. So the *jīvas,* they are also Kṛṣṇa's forms, *vibhinnāṁśa.* They are called *vibhinnāṁśa.* Just imagine the living entities, innumerable forms there are.

**Prabhupāda:** So we have been discussing this verse for the last two days. *Tyāgena.* Partially I have already explained *tyāga,* renounce. There is some natural tendency also for renouncing. When one gets to the topmost of material opulence, immediately there is a tendency for renunciation. This hippie movement is like that. They have got a good qualification that they have renounced this materialistic way of life, *tyāgena.*
The, there are two kinds of tendencies: one is *bhoga* and one is *tyāga. Bhoga* means enjoyment, sense enjoyment, and *tyāga* means to give up this material world. But without guidance, one does not know how to renounce this material world. That is called *tyāga.*
*Bhoga* and *tyāga,* two kinds of tendencies are going on in this material world. First of all they want to enjoy, and when they are frustrated in enjoyment, then there is renouncement. Again when they are tired of renouncement, again enjoyment. Just like the clock pendulum, this side and that side—tock, tock, tock, tock.

**[[spoken/730727bg.lon|Bg 1.37-39 — July 27, 1973, London]]**
**Translation:** "O Janārdana, although these men, overtaken by greed, see no fault in killing one's family or quarreling with friends, why should we, with knowledge of the sin, engage in these acts?"
**Prabhupāda:** So other party, Duryodhana's party, they were not considering all these pious or impious, sinful or vicious activities. Because *lobha-upahata-cetasaḥ:* "They have lost their sense on account of greediness for acquiring the empire." When one becomes lusty or overpowered by greediness, then he loses all intelligence. There are many places stated that. *Kāmais tais tair hṛta-jñānāḥ yajanti anya-devatāḥ* [[bg/7/20|[Bg. 7.20] ]].*

**[[spoken/730727r1.lon|Conversation with Sir Alistair Hardy — July 27, 1973, London]]**
Sir Alister Hardy: [reading from notes] "...answer in Christian terms, but no doubt the same idea could be put into the language of other faiths. It is to bring about the kingdom of God on earth: 'Thy kingdom come, thy will be done.' "
Sir Alister Hardy: Question six: "How does one achieve that goal?" "By seeking guidance, help, strength, and the power to accomplish one's humble path towards its achievement. By seeking it through prayer, through content, and the power we call God."
Your question seven: "How can Christianity and Kṛṣṇa consciousness cooperate for the general benefit of the British people?" Now here I find this difficult to answer. I say, "I cannot pretend to be able to answer this, for I have no deep knowledge of Kṛṣṇa consciousness.

**Prabhupāda:** [laughing] You are so rich, you can do it, continually festival: "Come on. Take *prasādam.* Chant Hare Kṛṣṇa." Just like... What is that? You told me? Continual massage...
**Prabhupāda:** [laughing] Twenty-four hours. Similarly, twenty-four hours free *prasādam:* "Come on." But they are not hungry.
**Rāmeśvara:** ...trees that are so fat that you can drive your car through it. They have made a opening...

**Nitāi:** *Oṁ namo bhagavate vāsudevāya.* *Oṁ namo bhagavate vāsudevāya.* *Oṁ namo bhagavate vāsudevāya.* [*Prabhupāda and* devotees repeat] *Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam,* Sixth Canto, First Chapter, verse number 46. [leads devotees in chanting verse, etc.]
"O best of the demigods, as we can see three different varieties of life on account of different contamination of the three modes of nature, and thus the living entities are seen to be peaceful, most restless and foolish, or happy, unhappy and in between, or religious, nonreligious and in between, similarly we can infer that in the next life these three kinds of material nature exist."

**[[spoken/760727iv.lon|Radio Interview with Mike Robinson — July 27, 1976, London]]**
**Mukunda:** Śrīla Prabhupāda, this is Mr. Robinson, Mike Robinson, from London Broadcasting Company. It's a very prominent news program in London, and he wanted to interview you, ask some questions.
**Mike Robinson:** Good evening. Pleased to meet you. If I could just spend one or two minutes setting up the microphone..
Shall I explain the program? We do a religious program for two and a half hours on a Sunday which covers all different religions, and what we'd like is, people in London have seen, you know, many members of the Hare Kṛṣṇa movement on Oxford Street. And if you would explain more about the Hare Kṛṣṇa movement, how it was formed, what you believe, this sort of idea, so that people would have a better understanding of the movement. And I'll just set up a tape recorder first.

**[[spoken/760727r1.lon|Room Conversation — July 27, 1976, London]]**
**Prabhupāda:** He is so budget man. He cannot get nice food even, the primary necessities. And getting jaundice.
**Hari-śauri:He had jaundice?Jayatīrtha:** Yes, he just recovered from jaundice. Thinks he was poisoned by something he ate. The main reason why he doesn't..., he got jaundice because, he admitted, is that he had Ravi Shankar's brother cooking for him.
**Jayatīrtha:** He has one Kumar Shankar, the brother of Ravi Shankar, is cooking for him. So this man is a demon; therefore he is becoming sick.

**Prabhupāda:** Not very good. Old man's disease. Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura said, *vṛddha kāla āola saba sukha bhāgala:[?]* "When a man becomes old, all bodily comforts..." So it is not very good to live like an old man. It is troublesome. Body will be weakened, and all kinds of disease will be strong. Unless one is very strong in body, old age means suffering. So whatever Kṛṣṇa-Balarāma desire. Now it is up to you to maintain the Society very nicely. There is framework. There is idea. There is facility of everything. If you like, you can maintain work.
**Yaśomatīnandana:** One hundred acres. It's all very nice level land, and we have planted crops in 150 *bighās.* That is about...
**Prabhupāda:** So you give some... We are getting many other land. If your becomes ideal, you can teach them. People are coming for chanting?
