# July 22 *Lectures from this day: 8 recordings* --- **[[spoken/660722bg.ny|Bg 4.7-9 — July 22, 1966, New York]]** **Prabhupāda:** > ye yathā māṁ prapadyante > tāṁs tathaiva bhajāmy aham > mama vartmānuvartante > manuṣyāḥ pārtha sarvaśaḥ > [[bg/4/11|[Bg. 4.11] ]] Lord Kṛṣṇa says that "Every man is following My path, indirectly or directly." The supreme position of the Lord is that He is in the supreme absolute position, and every other living being, they are all subordinate. In the Vedic *Upaniṣad* it is clearly stated, This is the natural law in any society, in any community, in any country, even in the animal society. If you go to the forest there are societies of different animal: elephant society, tiger society, deer society, jackal society, wolf society. Even in the birds, you'll find, the birds of the same feather flock together. This is the natural way. You'll find that all the pigeons, they flock together, not the crows and the pigeons flock together. The ducks, they flock together. Similarly, this is the natural way, and there... In every group there is a leader. --- **[[spoken/680722wl.mon|Wedding Lecture — July 22, 1968, Montreal]]** **Prabhupāda:** This last verse... It is not last. It is the third of *Brahma-sūtra, Brahma-saṁhitā. Ālola-candraka-lasad-vanamālya-vaṁśī-ratnaṅgadaṁ praṇaya-keli-kalā-vilāsam* [Bs. 5.31]*.This verse... There are about one hundred verses in the *Brahma-saṁhitā,* and this verse, I think, about thirty-eighth verse... So description of Govinda, the Supreme Personality of Godhead. The picture is here. So Govinda is not impersonal. And it is distinctly stated here that *ālola-candraka-lasad-vanamālya-vaṁśī* [Bs. 5.31]:* "The Lord is decorated with flower garland, and He has got a flute in His hand." And *praṇaya-keli-kalā-vilāsam:* "And He is engaged in transcendental, conjugal love, Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa." So this love which is in our experience within this material world, man and woman, it is not unnatural. It is in God also there. And the *Brahma-sūtra, Vedānta-sūtra,* in the beginning says that "Who is Brahman, the Supreme Person, or the Absolute Truth?" **Athāto brahma-jijñāsā, questioning "What is that Absolute Truth?" The answer is *janmādy asya yataḥ*: --- **[[spoken/710722in.ny|Initiations — July 22, 1971, New York]]** **Aravinda:**Vince. **Śruta-kīrti.Prabhupāda:Śruta-kīrti**. Whose activities are world famous. Come on. What are the rules? **Prabhupāda:** Sudhamani. Sudhamani, yes. Brilliant night. You know the rules? That's all right. [*japa*] **Prabhupāda:** Śrutadeva. Śrutadeva means Viṣṇu. Hare Kṛṣṇa. Come on. You know the rules and regulation? Yes. [Śrutadeva offers obeisances] Come on. Next. Chant Hare Kṛṣṇa. Yes. That is the distinction between an animal and a human being. --- **[[spoken/730722r2.lon|Conversation with George Harrison — July 22, 1973, London]]** **George:** Yes. I've just seen the photographs before. We saw many places which didn't turn out to be the one. **Prabhupāda:** No, no. He is ordinary dress. But they told me that he is priest. In Bombay we are going under some tribulation. You have seen this booklet? Śyāmasundara: In Bombay, the city police. So we made a publicity from it. I understand, though, they have rebuilt? --- **[[spoken/750722sb.la|SB 6.1.41 — July 22, 1975 , Los Angeles]]** **Pradyumna:** "The supreme cause of all causes, Nārāyaṇa, is situated in His own abode in the spiritual world, but nevertheless He controls the entire cosmic manifestation according to the three modes of material nature—sattva-guṇa, rajo-guṇa and tamo-guṇa. In this way all living entities are awarded different qualities, different names [such as brāhmaṇa, kṣatriya and vaiśya], and different activities according to the institution of varṇāśrama. Thus Nārāyaṇa is the cause of the entire cosmic manifestation." **Prabhupāda:** > yena sva-dhāmny amī bhāvā > rajaḥ-sattva-tamomayāḥ > guṇa-nāma-kriyā-rūpair > vibhāvyante yathā-tatham > [[sb/6/1/41|[SB. 6.1.41] ]] This is very important thing, how the supreme controller is controlling everything. It doesn't require His personal presence; He is personally present everywhere by His energy. Just like it is now daytime, so anyone can understand that the sun is there in the sky. Only the rascal fools cannot understand. Otherwise as soon as we see daylight, we may not see the sun, but still any intelligent man will know there is sun. Similarly, those who are intelligent, they can see, "There is God." By the manipulation of the natural activities, they understand, "Now there is God." --- ## Letters - [[../../letters/1967/670722_dayananda.md|Letter to Dayananda, 1967]] - [[../../letters/1967/670722_janardana.md|Letter to Janardana, 1967]] - [[../../letters/1969/690722_brahmananda.md|Letter to Brahmananda, 1969]] - [[../../letters/1969/690722_joel_chalson.md|Letter to Joel Chalson, 1969]] - [[../../letters/1969/690722_martin_malles.md|Letter to Martin Malles, 1969]] - [[../../letters/1969/690722_sivananda.md|Letter to Sivananda, 1969]] - [[../../letters/1972/720722_acyutananda.md|Letter to Acyutananda, 1972]] - [[../../letters/1972/720722_giriraja.md|Letter to Giriraja, 1972]] - [[../../letters/1972/720722_gurudasa.md|Letter to Gurudasa, 1972]] - [[../../letters/1972/720722_jagadisa.md|Letter to Jagadisa, 1972]] - [[../../letters/1972/720722_jayapataka.md|Letter to Jayapataka, 1972]] - [[../../letters/1972/720722_sri_jogeswar_chowdhury.md|Letter to Sri Jogeswar Chowdhury, 1972]] - [[../../letters/1972/720722_suniti.md|Letter to Suniti, 1972]] - [[../../letters/1973/730722_bhagavan.md|Letter to Bhagavan, 1973]]
