**[1971: Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 6.1.6–8](spoken/1971/710721sb.ny)**
> So therefore Caitanya Mahāprabhu says, *ei rūpe brahmāṇḍa brahmite.* The living entity is rotating. Out of them... Millions, numberless living entities are rotating. Out of them, one who is fortunate... *Ei rūpe brahmāṇḍa bhramite kona bhāgyavān jīva...*. *Kono,* not all. If all would have been so fortunate, everyone would have taken to this Kṛṣṇa consciousness. It is being distributed freely everywhere. But why they are not taking to it? Because unfortunate. Therefore Caitanya Mahāprabhu says, *kona bhāgyavān jīva:* "Only one who is fortunate."
> So Prahlāda, this is Prahlāda Mahārāja's admission. He says that *na udvije:* "I'm not very much anxious or perturbed because I am living in this material world." *Naivodvije para duratyaya-vaitaraṇyāḥ. Vaitaraṇyāḥ* means this hellish condition of life, how to cross the river of hellish condition of life. So "I have no anxiety for that." Why you are not anxious? Now, he says, *tvad-vīrya-gāyana-mahāmṛta-magna-cittaḥ* : "Because some way or other, I have been trained to be always in Kṛṣṇa consciousness. Therefore I have no anxiety."

**[1973: Bhagavad-gītā 1.26–27](spoken/1973/730721bg.lon)**
> So some of the family members on the other side, and some of the family members this side. So other side also, what are they? *Tatrāpaśyat sthitān pārthaḥ pitṝn atha pitāmahān*. Pitṝn,* teachers, and *pitṝn,* also, *pitṝn* means those who are on the status of father. And Bhīṣmadeva was a grandfather, a real grandfather, *pitāmahā.* He is on the other side. Droṇācārya, he is on the other side, teacher. They had to be respected. Actually Arjuna did so. Before fighting with Droṇācārya, he first of all throw one arrow on his lotus feet, obeisances.
> So Kṛṣṇa cannot be impersonal. That is nonsense. Kṛṣṇa is exactly a person like me, you, but the difference is that He's very, very, unlimitedly powerful; I am limited. This is the difference. So Kṛṣṇa also wants that to live with His family. Our Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement is just to train ourselves again to enter into the family of Kṛṣṇa. This is our movement. With these families, the so-called families, we are suffering. We are suffering. But this family idea is there. That is perfect in Kṛṣṇa, with Kṛṣṇa. The family idea, wherefrom family idea comes without it is being situated in Kṛṣṇa? Because nothing can be visible without being in Kṛṣṇa. He is the origin. *Janmādy asya yataḥ. Ahaṁ sarvasya prabhavaḥ : "I am the origin of everything."

**[1973: Room Conversation with Sir Alister Hardy](spoken/1973/730721r1.lon)**
> Just like Kṛṣṇa says, *sambhavāmy ātma-māyayā*. He does not come here being forced by the material energy. He comes by His spiritual energy. *Sambhavāmy ātma-māyayā.* Find out this. *Yadā yadā hi dharmasya glānir bhavati bhārata*. Therefore, as soon as He's accepted as ordinary man, *avajānanti māṁ mūḍhā mānuṣīṁ tanum āśritam, paraṁ bhāvam ajānantaḥ*. He does not know what is the power behind that.
> So ultimate knowledge is to know God. That is real knowledge. *Vedaiś ca sarvaiḥ*. Sarvaiḥ,* all kinds of *Vedas.* All kinds, *sarvaiḥ.* So Bible can be taken as *Vedas* because it is trying to give knowledge about God. Maybe for a certain class of men; that is another thing. But the subject matter is how to know God. So that can be taken as also as *Vedas.* Because ultimate knowledge is how to know God. *Bahūnāṁ janmanām ante jñānavān māṁ prapadyate*.

**[1975: Gurudāsa Sannyāsa and Harināma Initiations](spoken/1975/750721in.sf)**
> So we have to preach that. We haven't got to manufacture anything. Kṛṣṇa says everything. We have to simply bear the message, "Kṛṣṇa says like this. You do like this." That's all. You become a perfect *sannyāsī* and you perfect. And by doing this, result will be, *ahaṁ tariṣyāmi duranta-pāram.* This material world, the ocean of nescience, it is very, very difficult to cross it over, but by doing this service to Kṛṣṇa, one can easily... *Padaṁ padaṁ yad vipadām*. Bhavāmbudhir vatsa-padaṁ paraṁ padam. Bhavāmbudhiḥ,* the great ocean, becomes just like a water spot in the hoofprint of an calf. There is hoofprint, and there is some water. So there is no difficulty to cross over it. So the *bhavāmbudhiḥ* becomes like that. *Duranta-pāram*. Why it is *duranta*? *Tama,* darkness. So *mukundāṅghri-niṣevaya*. Mukunda means Kṛṣṇa. *Muk* means liberation, *mukti*. So Mukunda, "one who gives liberation." That is Kṛṣṇa's name. *Mukundāṅghri.Anghri* means His lotus feet.
> So Caitanya Mahāprabhu also accepted *sannyāsa* in very young age, when He was only twenty-four years. So why? *Tyaktvā tūrṇam, rājya-lakṣmīṁ dharmiṣṭha ārya-vacasā yad agād araṇyam*. Caitanya Mahāprabhu was very, very well situated. He was born in a very respectable high *brāhmaṇa* family, Jagannātha Miśra, and mother's side, the Nīlāmbara Cakravartī, he was very respectable *brāhmaṇa*. And Caitanya Mahāprabhu's learning, nobody could excel Him, He was so learned scholar. And when He was sixteen years old, He defeated one of the most learned scholar of India, Keśava Bhāratī. So learning, family... And wife? Personally goddess of fortune, Lakṣmīpriyā and Viṣṇupriyā, most beautiful and young. Viṣṇupriyā was His second wife; so faithful, so beautiful, personally goddess of fortune, such wife. And mother, most affectionate. There is no comparison with Śacī-mātā. So this was... And influence? When He was twenty years old, He could, by His command, gather 100,000 people to protest against Kazi, He was so popular. So popularity, born in high family, having good wife and good mother, everything complete—still, He took *sannyāsa.* Therefore it is said, *pūrvatamair mahadbhiḥ*. Why? Now, just to show mercy to the fallen souls. *Māyā-mṛgaṁ dayitayā*. Just to show mercy to the fallen souls. This is the meaning of *sannyāsa*. One must be very merciful. Vaiṣṇavas, they are merciful. All devotees of God, Vaiṣṇava, they are merciful. You know Lord Jesus Christ, how he was merciful.

**[1975: Room Conversation With Yogi Bhajan and Jain Muni [Mainly Translated Hindi](spoken/1975/750721r1.sf)**
> B.D. Joshi: So I think here in this case, because this is one of the typical case. Their plea is very simple plea against which you have to come out with a very strong argument. They say it were the temple, a certain frequency. You have changed the frequency, and therefore you have disturbed the environment and the ecology. I studied the entire case. I got all my information sale and I got it. So that's their main contention. Now what you have to prove is very ticklish. Therefore each paper must be filed very comparatively right, because this is they call invocation of the zonal area. To relieve the pressure on the subsidies of the zones and that law is Amendable. So if your attorney comes down the defence of it, and then you can get under Amendment One, and then they can't touch you. It's a very, very good fight. We fought it. That's why... And we won it. They got us on the same point. But what we did was, we had already filed a complaint, or we knew it was going to come. That case went out of the court just like that.
> Yogi Bhajan: [Transl. Actually in Bengal we have no other shelter than your āśrama. Where to stay? Where to go? Where to take ricksaw from? I have this conviction that it is Caitanya Mahāprabhu's birthplace, so there is nothing to worry there. Otherwise it is not possible to stay in Bengal without fish and meat.]

**[1975: Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 6.1.40](spoken/1975/750721sb.sf)**
> But unfortunately, being misguided, instead of serving Kṛṣṇa, we are serving so many other things. Somebody is serving his family. Somebody is serving his country. Somebody is serving his dog. In this way, service is there—but the service is misplaced. Therefore we are not satisfied. Why in the material world people are not satisfied? Because his position is to serve Kṛṣṇa. He is serving *māyā;* therefore he is not happy. Plain thing. Kṛṣṇa says, *mamaivāṁśo jīva-bhūtaḥ*: "*Jīva,* the living entity, they are My part and parcel." So each one of us, we are part and parcel of God. So we have got some duty. Just like the part and parcel of my body has got some duty. The eyes, his duty is to see. The ear, his duty is to hear. So every part of duty, even within, without. So we, being servant, eternal servant of Kṛṣṇa, our only duty is to serve Kṛṣṇa. And because we are not doing that, therefore we are unhappy.
> So therefore, *veda-praṇihito dharmaḥ.* So how God is working, how His brush is moving, how the things are coming out so nicely, how much great brain He has got... Kṛṣṇa says, *mattaḥ parataraṁ nānyat.* Kṛṣṇa says, "There is no more good brain than Me." He says. *Mattaḥ parataraṁ nānyat kiñcid asti dhanañjaya*. *Mayādhyakṣeṇa prakṛtiḥ sūyate sa-carācaram*.
