**Prabhupāda:** > brahmādayaḥ sura-ganā munayo 'tha siddhāḥ > sattvaikatāna-gatayo vacasāṁ pravāhaiḥ > nārādhituṁ puru-guṇair adhunāpi pipruḥ > kiṁ toṣṭum arhati sa me harir ugra-jāteḥ > [[sb/7/9/8|[SB. 7.9.8] ]]
This is Prahlāda Mahārāja praying. Prayers of Prahlāda Mahārāja is very important, most glorious prayer of Prahlāda Mahārāja. This is after the death of his father, Hiraṇyakaśipu. When Lord Nṛsiṁha appeared, half lion, half man, with terrible sounds, very gigantic form, and within a second He finished that gigantic demon Hiraṇyakaśipu, the whole world became afraid. Even Lakṣmījī, constant companion of Lord Viṣṇu, she also became afraid. When all the demigods assembled there—Lord Śiva, Lord Brahmā and Indra, and many other denizens of higher planets—they came to see why the Lord is so angry, and they tried to pacify Him. But He was still roaring just like a lion.
He was roaring because he could not tolerate that "My devotee has been so much tortured, this little boy, five years old. Simply for the reason that he is Kṛṣṇa conscious, only for this fault, this rascal has tortured him so much." So everyone was afraid. Nobody could pacify Him. At that time Brahmā—he is the supreme living entity of this universe—so intelligently, he pushed forward Prahlāda Mahārāja, "My dear boy, you just try to pacify your Lord, because the Lord has appeared to protect you, for you only. So we could not pacify Him. I think if you go forward and pray and pacify the Lord, He may agree." That is a fact.

**Prabhupāda:** ...interested in material profit by devotional service, he is not fit at all to enter into the devotional service. Devotional... There are... Everyone is trying to become happier—the *karmīs, jñānīs,**yogīs,* devotees—because in the material world there is no happiness. So the *karmīs* are trying to be happier to increase their sense gratification. So one man has got hundred dollars' income. He is trying to be happy, more happy, by increasing the income to a thousand dollars, because his sense gratification is not sufficient in one hundred dollars. He wants thousand dollars.
So if one takes to devotional service that "My income is hundred dollars. Kṛṣṇa, give me thousand dollars," so this is not pure devotion. Kṛṣṇa can give. Why thousand? Millions of dollars He can give. But anyone who asks from Kṛṣṇa for this material benefit, he is not a pure devotee. And unless one is pure devotee, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. By devotional service if you want material prosperity, Kṛṣṇa can give you. Kṛṣṇa can... Whatever you want, Kṛṣṇa can give you. But that is not pure devotion.
Dhruva Mahārāja went to obtain his father's kingdom in the beginning, but at the end he said that "I don't want." That is the benefit. If anyone has got any desire for material benefit and takes to Kṛṣṇa consciousness, Kṛṣṇa can give him. But the benefit is that one day he'll come to the stage he'll ask nothing from the Lord. Whereas if anyone goes to demigods to ask some material profit, he will get, but it will be finished, and he'll never come to the stage of transcendental platform that he has no material necessities.

**Prabhupāda:** *Idaṁ hi puṁsas tapasaḥ śrutasya vā* *sv-iṣṭasya* *sūktasya ca buddhi-dattayoḥ, avicyuto 'rthaḥ kavibhir nirūpitaḥ.* [devotees search for verse]

**Prabhupāda:** *Bhayaṁ dvitīyābhiniveśataḥ syāt [**SB* 11.2.37]. Everyone, animal up to the king of heaven—always fearful. *Āhāra-nidrā-bhaya-maithunaṁ ca* [Hitopadeśa* 25]. So fearfulness is one of the qualification of conditioned soul. Yesterday you were putting forward the logic "machine." Machine, we also accept. In *Bhagavad-gītā* it is mentioned, this body is machine, *yantra. Yantra* means machine. So at the same time, you said "growing." Do you grow machine, Ford car?
**Prabhupāda:** Then how the analogy is perfect? Machine it is. That is accepted. Kṛṣṇa says. That is undoubtedly, it is machine. It is nothing but machine. So machine, at the same time, he says, "It grows." How it can be compatible?
**Prabhupāda:** Yes. Just like this is a car, machine, but if I want a bigger car, that means another car, not this car is growing. Suppose sometimes you get baby car. That is not sufficient; I want big car. So you cannot say that increase the baby car and it becomes a sedan car. That means you require another, big car. A child, a child cannot have sex in that body. The same child, when he wants to enjoy sex, he must have another body. So these rascals, they cannot understand how different machines has been supplied by nature. It is supplying.

**Nitāi:** *Oṁ namo bhagavate vāsudevāya.* *Oṁ namo bhagavate vāsudevāya.* *Oṁ namo bhagavate vāsudevāya.* [devotees repeat] Sixth Canto, First Chapter, text number 19. [leads chanting of verse, etc.]
**Translation:** "Those who have given up all varieties of religiosity and who have surrendered to Kṛṣṇa alone by fixing their minds on His lotus feet may not have fully realized Him. But due to their simply surrendering unto Him they have become attached to His name, fame, quality and pastimes. By such surrender they have become completely purified of all sinful reactions, although they may not have accepted the principles of atonement. Even in dreams such a surrendered soul does not see Yamarāja or his order carriers equipped with ropes for binding sinful men."

**Tamāla Kṛṣṇa:** They have to stand up on the chairs because it's so big. Big project. This is only one drawing. Imagine the planetarium. [break]
**Yaśodā-nandana:** The directions are north, east, south and west. In the middle here, right in the middle, there is Mount Meru, which is very, very small. The scale, it comes to be one centimeter... What is this measurement estimate?
**Yaśodā-nandana:** One twentieth of a centimeter is calculated 100,000 y*ojanas.* One *lakh* of *yojanas* is one twentieth of a centimeter.

**Prabhupāda:** And the cabinet minister... But they are in prestigious position. They do not come here. They want me to go to them. I could have come, but in this position...
**Tamāla Kṛṣṇa:** Yeah, and, you know, if your health improves a little, what we may be able to do is to arrange a program in our center in Delhi simply for the selected persons like cabinet ministers, or maybe at one of their homes, and have them invite just the cabinet members and Mr. Desai, and that would be very nice, very high-level meeting. That could be... You know, just like supposing when you go to Bombay, you'll have to stay in Delhi overnight. So on that evening we can make an arrangement like that.
**Tamāla Kṛṣṇa:** One or two days. Probably you wouldn't be able to speak to all of them 'cause they're not all in the station at once, but even if a few of them came, it would be very good.
