# March 12 *Lectures from this day: 8 recordings* --- **[[spoken/680312iv.sf|Radio Interview — March 12, 1968, San Francisco]]** **Interviewer:** Move a little closer to that microphone, if you will? You are the head of ISKCON, the International Society for Krishna Consciousness. **Prabhupāda:** It is not exactly a church, but it is an institution for understanding the science of God. **Interviewer:** Could you tell people how you are dressed today, what's the significance of your clothes? --- **[[../../spoken/1970/700312bg.la.md|Bg 7.1 — March 12, 1970, Los Angeles]]** *[Lecture file not found]* --- **[[spoken/720312r1.vrn|Room Conversation with Dr. Kapoor — March 12, 1972, Vṛndāvana]]** **Prabhupāda:** There is a book, perhaps you might have read, *Aquarian Gospel.* So in that book I have read there is a Greek word, *Christo. Christo*... Sometimes we don't say *Kṛṣṇa,* we say *Kṛṣṭa*. **Prabhupāda:** Yes. So this *Christo* word means "anointed." Kṛṣṇa's face is anointed. And "love" also. And this "Christ" title was given to Jesus on account of his love for God. So on the whole, the conclusion is *Kṛṣṇa* or *Christo* means "love of Godhead." Dr. Kapoor: No,Bhandarkar has tried to argue that the entire Kṛṣṇa religion of *Śrīmad-Bhāgavata* has been borrowed from the West. --- **[[spoken/730312le.cal|Lecture [Bengali] — March 12, 1973, Calcutta]]** **Prabhupāda:** Pray for forgiveness, then you would be pardoned, there are no other alternatives. Then he return to Ambarish Maharaj after travelled whole Brahmanda [whole universe], visited all places of brahmand, imagine in what great speed he applied to visit all those places in a year, modern scientist are saying, to visit one of the higher planet with our present sputnik technology it may take forty thousand years, simply we can understand by the help of *yogasiddhi* he able to visit all the planets in one year, though he is a great *siddha-yogi* but not equal to a devotee of Lord. Reason is Durbasha has to return to the lotus feet of Ambarish Maharaj and beg for his forgiveness. Ambarish Maharaj also a great *Siddha Yogi*, but always he think he is an insignificant entity. A devotee does not endeavour to become *siddha-yogi*, though there actions are much powerful than a *Siddha-yogi*. As an example: If anyone abuses a rich mans son, father willing to spend any amount of wealth to punish the offender. Similarly Bhagavan is almighty, who completely surrendered and took the shelter of Lord's lotus feet, and then he does not require performing *Yoga Siddha*. Another name of Bhagavan is Yogeshwara. Master of mystic power, "*yatra yogeśvaraḥ kṛṣṇo*" --- **[[spoken/740312mw.vrn|Morning Walk — March 12, 1974, Vṛndāvana]]** **Prabhupāda:** Their business will be to exploit the poor citizens. And they will be embarrassed and harassed so much: by one side, no sufficient rain, and therefore scarcity of food; and the other side, taxation by the government. In this way, the people will be so much harassed that they'll give up their home and go to the forest. Very piti... Unless they take to Kṛṣṇa consciousness, they'll not be saved. The *varṇāśrama* college has to be established immediately. Everywhere, wherever we have got our center, a *varṇāśrama* college should be established to train four divisions: one class, *brāhmaṇa;* one class, *kṣatriya;* one class, *vaiśya;* and one class, *śūdra.* But everyone will be elevated to the spiritual platform by the spiritual activities which we have prescribed. There is no inconvenience, even for the *śūdras.* **Prabhupāda:** Those who are *śūdras,* they should not be allowed to take *sannyāsa.* Only those who are qualified *brāhmaṇas,* they'll be allowed to take *sannyāsa.* **Prabhupāda:** **There is no need of accepting *sannyāsa.* One has to perform the devotional activities. That is real thing. Simply by changing dress, one does not improve—unless he takes to the, seriously, principles of devotional service. But in the Kali-yuga, they'll think, "Because I have changed my dress, I have become a big *sannyāsī.*" "Because I have got a sacred thread, now I am a *brāhmaṇa.*" No. There must be regular training. Hare Kṛṣṇa. --- **[[spoken/750312dp.lon|Departure Lecture — March 12, 1975, London]]** So this is one of the items, to learn how to decorate the Deity, *śrī-vigraha. Śrī* means goddess of fortune, Lakṣmī. Kṛṣṇa is always associated with Lakṣmī. Śrīmatī Rādhārāṇī is the original goddess of fortune, and as all other Viṣṇu-mūrti, Nara... *Rāmādi-mūrtiṣu kalā-niyamena tiṣṭhan* [Bs. 5.39]. Kṛṣṇa is always existing—*tiṣṭhan* means existing—with many other forms simultaneously: Rāma, Nṛsiṁha, Varāha and Nārāyaṇa, Viṣṇu. So Viṣṇu and Nārāyaṇa is... There are many expansion. You have seen on the cover of *Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam,* there are different planets, and each and every planet there is the predominating Deity, Nārāyaṇa, Viṣṇu. They have got different names. So He is always associated with His eternal consort as well as devotees, many thousand, millions, in the spiritual world. --- **[[spoken/760312mw.may|Morning Walk — March 12, 1976, Māyāpur]]** **Prabhupāda:** ...clean. That also we sometimes neglect. [break] ...means *rūpena jāyate iti prajā.* Everything which is born, that is *prajā.* [break] ...children, our grandmother used to engage us for watering work, these pots. And that water was brought from down, two, three stories down, and we used to bring and put. That is good exercise, and sport also, competition between children. [break] ...*karma jyāyo hy akarmaṇaḥ* [[bg/3/8|[Bg. 3.8] ]]. Everyone should be engaged. That is supervision. [break] ...are also engaged in serving Kṛṣṇa. They give flower, and they're offering: "Take this flower. Offer to Kṛṣṇa." This is service, dedicating. This is explained by Kṛṣṇa to Balarāma while going through the Vṛndāvana forest, that "Just see how the trees are welcoming You, how the birds..." You have got that picture? **Prabhupāda:** Kṛṣṇa is seeing that, how everyone is ready to serve. Similarly, *Kṛṣṇa-bhakta* also sees how everyone is eager to serve Kṛṣṇa. [break] ...engage them rightly, that is leadership. Yes. Otherwise, *andhā yathāndhair upanīyamānāḥ* [[sb/7/5/31|[SB. 7.5.31] ]]. As a blind leader is leading other blind men, this whole world is going on like that. They do not know how to properly lead the people. Misleaders. [break] ...grains, cows, all they should be very properly taken care of and the products offered to Kṛṣṇa. Everyone should be engaged as Kṛṣṇa's servant. That is Vṛndāvana. In Vṛndāvana everyone is engaged how to please Kṛṣṇa. That is Vṛndāvana. --- **[[spoken/760312sb.may|SB 7.9.34 — March 12, 1976, Māyāpur]]** Anantarām Śāstrījī**: [Chants *slokas*] > Aiṁ kṛṣṇaika-ceta mada-moha-vināśa-kārin > mad-dṛṣṭi-gocara prabho prabhupāda-svāmin > doṣā vivṛddhi-pariduṣita-manda-buddheḥ > sañcintayāmi caraṇau tava bhakti-hetoḥ O lord, O Prabhupāda, may you always be the object of my vision.
