# March 8 *Lectures from this day: 6 recordings* --- **[[../../spoken/1967/670308sb.sf.md|SB 7.6.3-4 — March 8, 1967, San Francisco]]** *[Lecture file not found]* --- **[[spoken/720308bg.cal|Bg 9.2-3 — March 8, 1972, Calcutta]]** [break] ...similarly, *bhakti-yoga—*direct connection with Kṛṣṇa—it is not open for everyone, neither everyone can take it. It is stated in the *Bhagavad-gītā*, *yeṣām anta-gatam pāpaṁ*: one who is completely free from all sinful activities, *pāpam*. Anyone who is engaged in sinful activities, he cannot understand Kṛṣṇa, or God. That is not possible. And these are the four principle of sinful activities: illicit sex life, intoxication, meat-eating and gambling. These are the four pillars of sinful activities. Why at the present moment people have become so godless? Even big, big *svāmīs* and *yogīs,* all godless. Why? Because they are engaged in sinful activities. Kṛṣṇa, God, cannot be understood by sinful man. That is not possible. But Kṛṣṇa is so kind, if one takes shelter of Kṛṣṇa, immediately he becomes free from all sinful activities. Things are there. A person in sinful activities cannot understand Kṛṣṇa. But if anyone voluntarily surrenders himself to Kṛṣṇa, he immediately become free from all reaction of sinful activity. Now it is up to me to make my choice. Kṛṣṇa says..., Kṛṣṇa comes, therefore, because we are sinful, and at the same time we are part and parcel of Kṛṣṇa. Therefore Kṛṣṇa is more anxious for us than we are anxious for Kṛṣṇa. This is the position. Kṛṣṇa..., just like father. A spoiled child... The father is more anxious for the spoiled child, and the spoiled child does not care for the father. This is the position. We are all spoiled children, anyone who is in this material world. We are all spoiled children. --- **[[spoken/750308ar.lon|Arrival Address — March 8, 1975, London]]** *Jāy sakal'bipod, gāi bhaktivinod, jakhon ami o-nām gai, rādhā-kṛṣṇa bolo bolo, bolo re sobāi.* The Caitanya Mahāprabhu's preaching is to request everyone to chant Hare Kṛṣṇa or Rādhā-Kṛṣṇa. So Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura said that "When I chant Hare Kṛṣṇa *mantra,* then all dangers go away." So this place, this material world, is a dangerous place. *Padaṁ padaṁ yad vipadām. Vipad* means danger, and *padaṁ padam* means every step. In the material world you cannot expect very smooth, peaceful life. That is not possible. And the only remedy is to take shelter of the lotus feet of just Murāri. Murāri means Kṛṣṇa. So there is always, if you stay in a very good boat, still, because the platform is water you cannot think that the boat is always very smooth and without any trouble. So material world is always full of troubles. So if we keep ourself in our standing..., in our standard, chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa regularly, then the dangers will be over. Dangers, they are not also permanent. They come and go like the seasonal changes. Sometimes it is very hot; sometimes it is very cold. So Kṛṣṇa has advised that *āgamāpāyino 'nityās tāṁs titikṣasva bhārata *[[bg/2/14|[Bg. 2.14] ]]. So don't be diverted from the chanting of the Hare Kṛṣṇa *mahā-mantra,* and don't be afraid of because there is some danger and danger. Take shelter of Kṛṣṇa's lotus feet, chant Hare Kṛṣṇa *mantra,* and dangers will be over. --- **[[spoken/750308r1.lon|Bhajans and Room Conversation — March 8, 1975, London]]** **Haṁsadūta:** This harmonium was originally made for Nara-nārāyaṇa, and then it was..., but it was never delivered to him. It was picked up by Maṇibaṇḍha. And Maṇibaṇḍha left it in Amsterdam, and so I... They did not like it, so I gave them a harmonium that I had, and I took this one.* [Prabhupāda chuckles] Because I think it's very good, huh? **Prabhupāda:** I think you change that silk cloth. Ordinary cloth is, because it does not stand, it becomes loose. **Haṁsadūta:** You know the lady in the front here. There's this lady, Miss... Um, I can't think of her name. She called us yesterday, and she said it is much bigger than the land which we have purchased here, which is four acres. We bought four acres. So she didn't say how big it was. She didn't tell us. But she said there's several houses on it. And it will cost approximately £38,000. So it seems to be quite a sizable piece of land. And the man who owns the property, he knows that we are interested in it, and he is willing to work with us. And so far as we are told, that nobody knows about it. It is confidential. We may differ from other philosophers, but why there should be any difference of philosophy amongst ourselves? **Madhudviṣa:** One of the points, obvious points, that is there is that many of the boys that are working with Siddha-svarūpa feel more allegiance to Siddha-svarūpa than they do to you. **Siddha-svarūpa:** You know that they distribute Prabhupāda's books, but they can't give them away as cheaply, that's all. --- **[[spoken/760308sb.may|SB 7.9.30 — March 8, 1976, Māyāpur]]** *Oṁ namo bhagavate vāsudevāya.
