# February 29 *Lectures from this day: 4 recordings* --- **[[spoken/720229gp.may|Gaura-Pūrṇimā — February 29, 1972, Māyāpur]]** **Prabhupāda:** ...commit any sinful activities, that is required. So far his past activities that is excused during the time of initiation as soon as he chants—but one should not commit again. This is very important point, not that I am a great chanter of Hare Kṛṣṇa *mantra* therefore let me do all kinds of nonsense. No, no, one should be very much careful so; *apavitraḥ pavitro vā sarvāvasthāṁ gato 'pi vā yaḥ smaret puṇḍarīkākṣaṁ* [*Garuḍa Purāṇa*]. This is Kṛṣṇa, the name Kṛṣṇa is identical with Kṛṣṇa, The name of Kṛṣṇa and Kṛṣṇa: non-different. The name of Kṛṣṇa is as pure, as complete, as spiritual as Kṛṣṇa. *Abhinna-tvāt*—there is no difference between the name and the Lord, in the material world, relative world, there is difference between the substance and the name. But in the spiritual world there is no such difference everything is spiritual. So this transcendental Hare Kṛṣṇa *mantra* is not a sound production of this material world. --- **[[spoken/720229ta.may|Talk with Bob Cohen — February 29, 1972, Māyāpur]]** **Prabhupāda:** Good *karma* means what are prescribed in the *Vedas.* **The... Specifically, it is prescribed that one should perform *yajña. Yajña* means to act for satisfaction of Lord Viṣṇu, the Supreme Personality of Godhead. In the *Bhagavad-gītā* it is said... **Prabhupāda:** No. So good *karma* means performance of the *yajñas* as they are prescribed in the Vedic literature. And this purpose of this *yajña* is to satisfy the Supreme Lord. Just like good citizen means one who satisfies the government. Law-abiding. Good citizen. Similarly, good *karma* means who satisfies Lord Viṣṇu, the Supreme Lord. Unfortunately, the modern civilization, they do not know what is the Supreme Personality of Godhead, and what to speak of satisfying Him. They do not know. They are simply busy in material activities. Therefore, all of them are doing only bad *karma,* and therefore they are suffering. They are blind men and leading some other blind men. And both of them are expanding the path to hell by bad *karma.* --- **[[spoken/760229mw.may|Morning Walk [partially recorded] — February 29, 1976, Māyāpur]]** **Prabhupāda:** Lakṣmī should be engaged in the service of Nārāyaṇa. At the present moment, Lakṣmī is under the clutches of Rāvaṇa, *rākṣasa.* So it should be delivered, Hanumānji. So I am trying for that purpose, to deliver Sītā from the clutches of Rāvaṇa. That is my mission. **Prabhupāda:** Rāvaṇa-class man wants only Sītā, not Rāma. Rāma, they are condemning, these rascals, Suniti Chatterjee and others. But our mission is to keep Rāma and Sītā together. We are not satisfied that Rāma should remain alone and Sītā should be under the custody of Rāvaṇa. We can't... I don't want. Sītā must be released from the custody of Rāvaṇa. [break] ...with opulence means we are bringing Sītā nearer, nearer, nearer. That is wanted. Otherwise, for a *sannyāsī,* what is the use of these big buildings? No. We want these big buildings for service of Rāma. [break]. **Devotee (1):** ...Prabhupāda, in the material world for motivating a person to collect *lakṣmī,* but this has to be the most beautiful point I ever heard. --- **[[spoken/760229sb.may|SB 7.9.22 — February 29, 1976, Māyāpur]]** Anantarām Śāstrījī*:* *Oṁ namo bhagavate vāsudevāya. You are never conquered by them. Therefore the time element is Your representation. O my Lord, the Supreme, nobody can conquer over You, but so far I am concerned, I am being crushed by the wheel of time, and therefore I am surrendering fully unto You.
