**Prabhupāda:** Caitanya Mahāprabhu and Prakāśānanda Sarasvatī, they are now together. Now there will be discussion. Now Prakāśānanda Sarasvatī, he [is] asking Caitanya Mahāprabhu, "I think Your name is Śrī Kṛṣṇa Caitanya, and You are disciple..., You have accepted this renounced order of life from Keśava Bhāratī."
As I've explained to you that there are ten different names in the Śaṅkara-sampradāya of the *sannyāsī,* and there are 108 names amongst the Vaiṣṇava *sannyāsa.* So Caitanya Mahāprabhu, although He was initiated by Vaiṣṇava, He took *sannyāsa,* He accepted *sannyāsa,* from Bhāratī, who belongs to the Śaṅkara-sampradāya,Śaṅkara sect.
The rule is that if one has to accept renounced order of life, there is ceremony. As there is ceremony of initiation, there is ceremony of accepting this renounced order of life. And that ceremony must be performed by another bona fide, I mean to..., *sannyāsī,* renounced order. It is not that you take your cloth and get it colored and one day you become a *sannyāsī.* No. There are ceremonies.

**Revatīnandana:** [reading *Bg*. 5.17-20] "When one's intelligence, mind, faith and refuge are all fixed in the Supreme, then one becomes fully cleansed of misgivings through complete knowledge and thus proceeds straight on the path of liberation."
**Revatīnandana:** "The humble sage sees with equal vision a learned and gentle *brāhmaṇa,* a cow, an elephant, a dog and a dog-eater, or outcaste.
"Those whose minds are established in sameness and equanimity have already conquered the conditions of birth and death. They are flawless like Brahman, and as such, are already situated in Brahman.

**Prabhupāda:** [indistinct] So we have explained *rājarṣi*, the big kings just like Manu, Ikṣvāku coming from the sun god. The Indians, it is known that there are two kinds of *kṣatriya* dynasty. One is coming from the sun, and another is coming from the moon. *Candra-vaṁśa* and *sūrya-vaṁśa*. So here we specially refer to the dynasty coming from Sūrya, or the sun god. So there is no question of impersonalism. Sun god is a person. He is the resident, or the predominating deity, in the sun planet, and from there descendents, Manu and Ikṣvāku. In this way Ikṣvāku dynasty is there always in the *Rāmāyaṇa*. Maharaja Ikṣvāku, the forefather of Lord Rāmacandra. [indistinct]
So the kings were supposed to know the science of God. This is the [indistinct]. Because the king, or the monarch, used to rule over the country and the special business of human form is to understand the science of Kṛṣṇa, or the science of religion*—*whatever you call it*—*or the science of the human goal of life. That is missing. Nobody knows the science of human goal of life, the science of human birth or the science of human society. Nobody knows. They are living just like animals, cats and dogs, simply working:

**Gurudas:** There's one Nītyānanda prabhu who lived with you in Vṛndāvana? When Puruṣottama lived with you also? One Nītyānanda?
**Guest:** Two parts. Really wonderful. Earlier I had read one book by PareśvarandaHṛṣīkeśa [indistinct] about Krsna's philosophy, ethics. So after that, I read this really most appealing and wonderful [indistinct].
**Prabhupāda:** Our books are selling very nicely. We're selling books for forty thousand rupees daily. That is the main standing. Our whole expenditure went there. Please cooperate with this movement.

**Prabhupāda:** "...sun-god is [indistinct] to You. How am I to understand that in the beginning he instructed the science [indistinct]?" So that is Kṛṣṇa. Kṛṣṇa's appearance, *janma karma me divyaṁ yo jānāti* [[bg/4/9|[Bg. 4.9] ]], if you understand Kṛṣṇa's appearance and disappearance, then immediately you become liberated. Because you are not liberated, therefore you are asking these things. *Janma karma me divyaṁ yo jānāti tattvataḥ*. If we actually understand Kṛṣṇa in truth, then, *tyaktvā dehaṁ punar janma naiti*, then we are liberated. But because you do not know, *tattvataḥ*, Kṛṣṇa in truth, therefore you are asking this question. Kṛṣṇa exists, Arjuna exists.
So everything is answered. If people would study *Bhagavad-gītā*... But they do not study as it is; they study according to their whims. Therefore we are presenting *Bhagavad-gītā* as it is, as it is.

**Nitāi:** *Oṁ namo bhagavate vāsudevāya.* *Oṁ namo bhagavate vāsudevāya. **O**ṁ namo bhagavate vāsudevāya.* [devotees repeat] Chapter Sixteen, verses 13 through 15. [leads chanting of verses, etc.]
[break] *[03:45]* "The demoniac person thinks: 'So much wealth do I have today, and I will gain more according to my schemes. So much is mine now, and it will increase in the future more and more. He is my enemy and I have killed him, and my other enemy will also be killed. I am the lord of everything. I am the enjoyer. I am perfect, powerful and happy. I am the richest man, surrounded by aristocratic relatives. There is none so powerful and happy as I am. I shall perform sacrifices, I shall give some charity and thus I shall rejoice.' In this way such persons are deluded by ignorance."

Anantarām Śāstrījī**: [chants verse; Prabhupāda and devotees respond] > evaṁ surādayaḥ sarve > brahma-rudra-puraḥ sarāḥ > nopaitum aśakan manyu- > saṁrambhaṁ sudurāsadam > [[sb/7/9/1|[SB. 7.9.1] ]]
Kṛṣṇa, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, if He is pleased upon somebody, nobody can annihilate him. Similarly, if He is angry upon somebody, nobody can protect him. There is a Bengali, *pay**āra, *[Bengali measure of verse of two lines containting 14 letters,] *rākhe* *kṛṣṇa māre ke, māre kṛṣṇa rākhe ke.* If Kṛṣṇa wants to kill somebody... Kṛṣṇa does not kill, neither the living entity is ever killed. Just like father. If he chastises his son, it is not chastisement; it is favor. The devotees can understand that even sometimes we meet very reverse condition of life, it is also favor. *Tat te 'nukampāṁ su-samīkṣamāṇaḥ* [[sb/10/14/8|[SB. 10.14.8] ]].* Anyone who can see that this unfavorable condition of life is also another favor of Kṛṣṇa... *Tat te 'nukampāṁ su-samīkṣamāṇaḥ.* "Even there is some suffering, it is not given by Kṛṣṇa. I am suffering on account of my past misdeeds, and Kṛṣṇa is so kind that I would have suffered many hundred thousand times more than the present suffering, but Kṛṣṇa is adjusting the whole thing by little suffering." This is the vision of devotee. *Tat te 'nukampāṁ su-samīkṣamāṇo bhuñjāna evātma-kṛtaṁ vipākam. Ātma-kṛtaṁ vipākam.* A devotee never accuses Kṛṣṇa, that "Kṛṣṇa, I am serving You so nicely, and You are giving me so much suffering." No. This is not devotee's view. Devotee will take that "This so-called suffering is also Kṛṣṇa's favor." *Tat te 'nukampāṁ su-samīkṣamāṇaḥ.* So those who are going forward with Kṛṣṇa consciousness, they should not be, I mean, a debtor to any condition of life.

**Prabhupāda:** So this is the hundred and third birth anniversary. [some discussion in background about the number] You remember? One hundred third, this is? One hundred and three anniversary?
**Hari-śauri:** Seventy-three, seventy-four, seventy-five, seventy-six, seventy-seven... Hundred and fifth.
**Prabhupāda:** Fourth? Anyway, this is the auspicious day of Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī... Hundred fourth?
