**[1971: Śrī Caitanya-caritāmṛta Lecture in Hindi](spoken/1971/710201cc.all)**
> But nobody followed that, the instruction was simple, that by avoiding any other thing, just surrender your life at the Lotus feet of Lord Krsna, no they did not listen, some one said that this Krsna is very proud, look he is saying that leave everything and surrender at my feet, He is God, there is no need for him, surrendering at the lotus feet of God is auspicious for you only, you surrender or don't surrender what God has to do with that, God is not in want of anything he is self satisfied, but if I surrender my life at the lotus feet of God that will be good for me, that is why he says also that I am speaking this for your benefit only, but that was not understood, they said that Krsna is very proud, see we have one more Krsna, rich krsna, that krsna, that Krsna, we have that demigod and that demigoddess, why should I leave all this and surrender to Krsna, No, *avajānanti māṁ mūḍhā mānuṣīṁ tanum āśritam*, men made mistake, till today they are making mistakes, they are not understanding Krsna, that is why Caitanya Mahaprabhu, who is Krnsa himself, *kṛṣṇāya kṛṣṇa-caitanya-nāmne*, Rupa Goswami says, that you are Krsna only, but you have taken the name of Krsna Caitanya and have incarnated, but within all the incarnations till today you are the most *vadana*, *vadana* means one who is very charitable, one who gives very expensive charity, he gives millions to each person, this is called *mahā-vadānyāya, dhanavantari*, just like Dasarath Maharaj, when he used to give charity, just like as clouds pour rain, without thinking, all over the place, where there is no requirement there also it gives there is no need on a mountain, there is no need of water in a ocean there also it gives, so *dhanvantari*, so donor should be like this, at whatever time whoever comes just give it, so he is called *mahā-vadānyāya* and give it very nicely, So Caitanya Mahaprabhu's donation is like that, some people who are not qualified to them also Caitanya Mahaprabhu distributes Love of Krnsa. It is very difficult to obtain Love of Krsna, Krsna himself could not distribute Love of Krsna when he was here, Krsna commanded *sarva-dharmān parityajya*, you surrender to my feet, I will protect you, but he did not give love by force. Caitanya Mahaprabhu gave Love of Krsna by force, that is why Rupa Goswami says *mahā-vadānyāya*, So Caitanya Mahaprabhu Himself is teaching Rupa Goswami, he says that if anyone is peaceful in this world then that is a devotee of Krishna. Why devotee of Krsna
> For them they don't have to try separately to attain the Brahman conception of life, because those who are engaged in devotional service he has attained the *Brahma buta* stage, he does not have to try separately for self realization, he is very ahead, that is why it is said in *Bhagavatam*, *Dharma prohjitta kaitava*, the real religion is to surrender to the Lotus feet of God, God himself comes and teaches us *Sarva-dharmān parityajya mām ekaṁ śaraṇaṁ vraja*:, it is a very simple straight forward thing but we will not accept simple things, by our intelligence, we will accept something from here and there and then we will have to become miserable, what can be done. There is only one solution to attain peace, that is to surrender to the Lotus feet of God and like God says *ahaṁ tvāṁ sarva-pāpebhyo mokṣayiṣyāmi mā śucaḥ*, this are the thoughts of all the scriptures, you are not a debtor to anyone, this is also mentioned in the scriptures

**[1971: Lecture at Government Center, Pedagogical Institute [Partially Recorded](spoken/1971/710201l1.all)**
> Out of this, Allahabad is very insignificant, and we, what to speak of our position, we are very, very insignificant in the creation of the Lord. But we are puffed up—"I am God" We are so much puffed up, our position is so insignificant, but we are puffed up; we speak of that "I am God" That is called *māyā*. That is called *māyā:* which is not actually fact. Therefore Kṛṣṇa, although He is *suhṛdaṁ sarva-bhūtānāṁ*... Kṛṣṇa says in the *Bhagavad-gītā*,
> He is friend of everyone. Because He is God, He is friend of everyone, *samo 'haṁ sarva-bhūteṣu* [*Bg 9*.29]. But He is especially inclined to the devotee, *ye tu māṁ bhajanti*. Therefore Kṛṣṇa's name is Bhaktavatsala. And He is Dīna-bandhu*. Bhakta* means He is very humble. Caitanya Mahāprabhu says,

**[1971: Lecture in Hindi [Partially Recorded](spoken/1971/710201l2.all)**
> Many thousands and millions of Goddess of Fortune serve the Lord. In order to have a favor of one *Lakshmi* we perform so many austerities and millions of Lakshmiji's are continuously engaged in serving the Lord. *lakṣmī-sahasra-śata-sambhrama-sevyamānaṁ*, in this way *govindam*, Lord Krsna, *ādi-puruṣaṁ*, the lord is the origin of all, just like in Vedanta it is mentioned *janmādy asya*, that original person from whom everyone took birth, that original person Krsna *īśvaraḥ paramaḥ kṛṣṇaḥ sac-cid-ānanda-vigrahaḥ* [Bs. 5.1], Lord Krsna's body is *sac cid ananda*, it is not material. Foolish people say that Lord has a material body, this *arca-vigraha* is God himself, one should not think that this is made of Stone or brass, this is a offense. God can manifest through anything, that is his mercy. Lord is *Advaita acyuta anādi mahato mahīyān*, there cannot be anything bigger that Lord, how can one obtain such a Lord, that is why Lord by his mercy, in order to accept service from you, he takes this form of *arca murti*. So God, in this arca *vigraha* form is God himself, there is no doubt in this as per the scriptures, that is why you all are very fortunate Pandit Malaviji is worth remembering for ever, Great person and by his mercy, you have taken birth in this house, God himself is present here, so you all serve him nicely and sometimes call us also, we all will come. Hare Krsna.
> Lord Govinda, *īśvaraḥ paramaḥ kṛṣṇaḥ* [Bs. 5.1] the Supersoul Krsna, he lives in a place made of touch stone, spiritual world, beyond this material world, in that abode, which is God's abode, Goloka Vrndavan, in that abode, it is a place made up of touchstone, *cintāmaṇi-prakara-sadmasu*, there also buildings are there, gardens are there everything is there, but all of that is spiritual *cintāmaṇi*, the trees there are desire trees. Desire trees means, just like the trees in this material world, from a mango tree you will get mango only, but the trees in the spiritual world can give you whatever one desires, desire tree, because whatever is present there is all conscious, there is nothing material, God is completely Conscious being and the abode of God, God's name, God's pastimes, God's servants all are spiritual and conscious, like here everything is material there everything is spiritual, *kalpa-vṛkṣa-lakṣāvṛteṣu* and such desires trees not one or two, but there are many *lakṣāvṛteṣu surabhīr abhipālayantam* and God is taking care of *surabhi* cows there. *Surabhi* cows, are those from whom you can take as much milk you want and as many times you want, here you can take once, twice, thrice not there, there you can take as much you want, there is no scarcity and whatever you want you will get everything, this is mentioned in the scriptures

**[1971: Paṇḍāl Lecture [Partially Recorded](spoken/1971/710201l3.all)**
> And first of all there was one center in the Second Avenue, New York, then gradually another was established in San Francisco, then Montreal. In this way, by this time we have got about forty-eight branches all over the world, including America, Europe, Australia and Japan, Fiji. In this way, all over the world we have got branches.
> The idea is that we are representing Lord Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu, who predicted that in every village and every town this *saṅkīrtana* movement will be heard. Actually it is happening. Especially in America, the boys and girls, those who are practically very much confused and frustrated with this materialistic way of life, they are very much eager, as you have seen.

**[1971: Lecture in Hindi](spoken/1971/710201l4.all)**
> Like Pigs they also work hard day and night *kaṣṭān kāmān arhate*, they work hard, they do sense gratification, that should not be the case with human life. Now a days in human society, I have seen this by travelling all over the world, everyone is unhappy, and they don't want to work so hard, they see that by working so hard what profit are we getting? My disciples are present here their fathers are very big personalities and they see that my father has earned a lot of money, but when he wants to sleep he needs sleeping pills, otherwise he is not able to sleep. So this material civilization is just to work hard like an ass, pig or a dog, that is not real life. Real life is *tapo divyaṁ putrakā*, Perform austerities to reach God this is human life, So the qualification required to perform austerities is not there in Kaliyuga
> He realizes *Brahman* immediately, he becomes a *Brahmana*, *Brahman janati iti brahmana*, One who is a devotee he attains stature of *Brahmana* very before, Those who are Vaisnavas they attain the stature of Brahmana before, *Brahman janati iti brahamana* and God says *brahma bhuyaya kalpate*, Brahman knowledge, *aham brhamasmi* he gets all knowledge, that is why in reality in order to make human being happy, if there is any process, if everyone wants peace, like Caitanya Mahaprabhu says *kṛṣṇa bhakta niṣkāma ataeva śānta*, he has no desires, why there will be any desires, one who is in contact with God what is the use of any other desire. Just like, a small boy, he lives under the shelter of his father, then what need is there for him to ask for anything, Father knows everything that what time he should be fed, what time he should be given clothes everything *yoga-kṣemaṁ vahāmy aham*, God takes charge of him, that is why scriptures say *tasyaiva hetoḥ prayateta kovido na labhyate yad bhramatām upary adaḥ*, one should try for that think in ones life which is not available either in heavenly planets, planet of Brahma or in hellish planets, what is that thing that is devotional service to God, try for that if one wants to be happy and if one says I have to leave everything for devotional service, there is no question of leaving everything, that is foolishness. Arjuna was going to fight before understanding *Bhagavad Gita* and after understanding *Bhagavad Gita* also he fought, where is the question to leaving anything, only his consciousness was changed, before he was thinking that if I kill all my brothers and my grandfather, then what is the use of such politics, Krsna I will not fight he sat down, Krsna explained him the *Bhagavad Gita* and after explaining *Bhagavad Gita*, Krsna is asking What do you think? Do you want to fight or go away from here? Arjuna said *kariṣye vacanaṁ tava, naṣṭo mohaḥ smṛtir labdhā* So this is Krsna consciousness, all the thoughts that we have concocted, by discarding all those thoughts and only thoughts that will satisfy Krsna, in that only one can find happiness, just like gopis they did not have any other thought, only one thing, how should Lord Krsna be satisfied, this it the only thought, Caitanya Mahaprabhu also has the same thought, only devotional service *na dhanaṁ na janaṁ na sundarīṁ kavitāṁ vā jagad-īśa kāmaye* I don't want all these things *mama janmani janmanīśvare bhavatād bhaktir ahaitukī, ahaituki bhakti*, not to make some profit from God, not like keeping God for earning money and satisfy ones stomach, No not that kind of devotional service, that is not pure devotion, it is there, God says *sukritina* Arjuna, they are called pious, but one who is a pure devotee, he is

**[1971: Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 6.3.1–11](spoken/1971/710201sb.all)**
> The six Gosvāmīs, they are directly recipient of the causeless mercy of Śri Caitanya Mahāprabhu; therefore they were empowered to diminish the sinful burden of the world*. Śrī-caitanya-kṛpā-bharau bhuvi bhuvo bhārāvahantārakau.* When people become too much sinful, the heart becomes overburdened. At that time, *paritrāṇāya sādhūnāṁ vināśāya ca duṣkṛtām*, the incarnation of the Supreme Personality of Godhead comes.
> Kati santīty ākṣepoktiḥ* [part of Śrīdhara Svāmī's commentary on *SB* 6.3.4. Immediately, they simply are..., they were under the impression that Yamarāja is the supreme superintendent or supreme controller of the criminal department, but "How is that—we are checked, we are baffled to do our duty?" So therefore they were inquiring, "My dear lord, how many controllers are there? Are you single, or there are many other controllers?" Because they were under the impression, just like *alpa-medhasām*, the less intelligent, they think that a particular type of demigod is all in all.
