**Prabhupāda:** Mr. Allen, Ladies and Gentlemen, I thank you very much for your kindly inviting me to speak something about East and West. Of course, I have got considerable experience now because I am wandering East and West, not only once, at least twice, thrice in a year. So far Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement is concerned, we have no such thing, East and West. Just like the sun rises from the eastern horizon and sets on the western horizon, but the sun is the same.
You cannot say that Eastern sun and the Western sun. That is not possible. The planet, this earthly planet, is moving, and we are considering that the sun is moving from east and west. The sun, sun is in his position. Similarly, this Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement has no such distinction between East and West. If there is such distinction, it is due to lack of knowledge.
Why this lack of knowledge? Because we are under bodily concept of life. According to Kṛṣṇa culture, anyone who is going on under the bodily concept of life, he is not considered as a human being. It is said in the *Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam:*

**Mādhavānanda:** [reading] "...Four. Devotional Service Surpasses All Liberation. How much a devotee is seriously attached to the devotional service of the Supreme Personality of Godhead can be understood from the statement of Mahārāja Pṛthu [*Ādi-rāja*], which is described in *Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam,* Fourth Canto, Twentieth Chapter, twenty-first verse* [[sb/4/20/21|[SB. 4.20.21] ]] . He prays to the Supreme Personality of Godhead thusly: 'My dear Lord, if after taking liberation I have no chance of hearing the glories of Your Lordship, glories chanted by pure devotees from the core of their hearts in praise of Your lotus feet, and if I have no chance for this honey of transcendental bliss, then I shall never ask for liberation of this so-called spiritual emancipation. I shall simply always pray unto Your Lordship that You may give me millions of tongues and millions of ears so that I can constantly chant and hear of Your transcendental glories.' "
**Prabhupāda:** Hmm. Surpasses all kind of liberation. There are five kinds of liberation: *sāyujya, sārūpya, sālokya, sāmīpya...* But a pure devotee does not want any of such liberations. *Dīyamānaṁ na gṛhṇanti.* Even liberation is offered... Kṛṣṇa offers liberation very easily. But Kṛṣṇa's personal touch is so sublime that Kṛṣṇa is carrying order of Mahārāja Yudhiṣṭhira. Mahārāja Yudhiṣṭhira is sending letter, handed over to Kṛṣṇa, and He's carrying to Duryodhana. So Nārada was very much surprised, that this stage of dependent on devotee is very, very difficult to achieve. To achieve liberation is not very difficult, but when Kṛṣṇa becomes dependent on the order of a devotee, that is very difficult to achieve.
So therefore pure devotional service surpasses all kinds of liberation. Caitanya Mahāprabhu also teaches, *mama janmani janmanīśvare bhavatād bhaktir ahaitukī tvayi.* Liberation means no more birth. But Caitanya Mahāprabhu says, *mama janmani janmani—*birth after birth. But the..., a devotee does not want anything of the material things. *Na dhanaṁ na janaṁ na sundarīṁ kavitāṁ vā* *jagad-īśa kāmaye* [*Cc Antya*20.29, Śikṣāṣṭaka4]. So this pure devotional service is a different subject matter. *Dharmaḥ projjhita-kaitavo atra* [[sb/1/1/2|[SB. 1.1.2] ]].

**Pradyumna:** > manuṣyāṇāṁ sahareṣu > kaścit yatati siddhaye > yatatām api siddhānāṁ > kaścid māṁ vetti tattvataḥ > [[bg/7/3|[Bg. 7.3] ]]
**Pradyumna:** > bhūmir āpo 'nalo vayuḥ > khaṁ mano buddhir eva ca > ahaṅkāra itīyaṁ me > bhinnā prakṛtir aṣṭadhā > [[bg/7/4|[Bg. 7.4] ]]

"The transcendental qualities are conducive to liberation, whereas the demoniac qualities make for bondage. Do not worry, O son of Pāṇḍu, for you are born with divine qualities."
**Prabhupāda:** > daivī sampad vimokṣāya > nibandhāyāsurī matā > mā śucaḥ sampadaṁ daivīm > abhijāto 'si pāṇḍava > [[bg/16/5|[Bg. 16.5] ]]
This is very important verse. *Daivi sampad,* the qualities, divine qualities, that is described, *abhayam sattva samsuddhi. *That is elaborately stated in the first verse [indistinct].
