**Prabhupāda:** > kṛṣṇa bhakti abhidheya sarva śāstre kaya > ataeva muni-gaṇa kariyāche niścaya > [[cc/madhya/22/5|[Cc. Madhya 22.5] ]]
So, we have just studied the constitutional position of Kṛṣṇa by His original standing as the Supreme Personality of Godhead—His different expansions, incarnations, and how He is situated as the supreme controller of the spiritual and material manifestation. So far, as far as possible, we have studied through the grace of Lord Caitanya. And even up to the prime..., primal living entity within this material world, namely Brahmā...
And only Kṛṣṇa is the master, and everyone is servant, however great he may be. So even Kṛṣṇa's expansion, Viṣṇu, He is also subordinate to Kṛṣṇa. The greatest manifestation of Viṣṇu is the Mahā-Viṣṇu, who is lying on the Causal Ocean of material creation, wherefrom the material universes are emanating by His breathing process. Such a gigantic and huge, I mean to say, form of Viṣṇu with four hands, He is also stated in the *Brahma-saṁhitā,*

**Pradyumna:** [reading] ...Lord Śrī Kṛṣṇa is the Supreme Personality of Godhead, the cause of all causes, the reservoir of all *rasas,* or relationships, which are called neutrality, or passive adoration; servitorship; friendship; parenthood; conjugal love; comedy; compassion; fear; chivalry; ghastliness; wonder; and devastation. He is the supreme attractive form, and by His universal and transcendental attractive features, He has captivated all the *gopīs,* headed by Tārakā, Pālikā, Śyāmā, Lalitā and, ultimately, Śrīmatī Rādhārāṇī. Let His Lordship's grace be on us..."
**Prabhupāda:** Kṛṣṇa is the reservoir of all *rasas. Rasa* is a very peculiar word. *Rasa,* it may be translated into English as "taste," as "mellow," or as "humor." So our relationship with Kṛṣṇa, there is some taste. Without taste, we cannot continue our relationship with anyone. There must be some taste. So these *rasas,* or tastes, are twelve kinds. Primary *rasa* is the relationship between inert things and our... Just like I am sitting on this chair. So the comfort I am feeling, that is the *rasa,* taste. We want very nice cushion, sitting position. So that tasting, that "I am now comfortably seated," this is called *śānta-rasa.* Then above the *śānta-rasa,* there is *dāsya-rasa. Dāsya-rasa...* Just like my students, my disciples, they want to serve me, and I want to take service from them. This is also an exchange of *rasa,* a taste. *Śānta, dāsya.*
Similarly, next advanced stage is *sakhya-rasa. Sakhya* means friendship. Just like one is serving somebody, but if that service is very intimate, then there is the *rasa* of friendship, *dāsa..., sakhya-rasa.* And when that is advanced...

**Prabhupāda:** Yes. [break] They have achieved their advancement of knowledge by seeing a crack in the moon. You know that? Yes. They are now researching, "What is this crack?" For seeing the crack, they spend so much money.
**Bali-mardana:** When I was in Hawaii I gave a lecture at one Catholic college, and the priest in charge, he was asking me if in our philosophy we believe that animals had a soul. He's so foolish...
**Bali-mardana:** The Christians are so foolish, even though they have big learned positions, they do not understand that the animal also has a soul.

**Pradyumna:** [leads chanting of verse, etc.] [**Prabhupāda and devotees repeat]* [Prabhupāda interrupts to correct third line]
**Translation:** "Sūta Gosvāmī said: While Mahārāja Parīkṣit was residing in the capital of the Kuru empire, the symptoms of the Age of Kali began to infiltrate within the jurisdiction of his state. When he learned about this, he did not think the matter very palatable. This did, however, give him a chance to fight. He took up his bows and arrows and prepared himself for military activities."

**Tamāla Kṛṣṇa:** Oh, yes, put in the refrigerator. And then you cook it up again with fresh foods, mixing together.
**Harikeśa:** Is it all right if he keeps it in there and then he puts some on the plate when taking? He puts on the plate when taking?
**Prabhupāda:** I do not know whether it is all right, but it is not all right that you eat and keep it. This is not all right.

"Mahārāja Parīkṣit said: One may know that sinful activity is injurious for him because he actually sees that a criminal is punished by the government and rebuked by the people in general, and because he hears from the scriptures and learned scholars that one is thrown into hellish condition in the next life for committing sinful acts. Nevertheless, in spite of such knowledge one is forced to commit sins again and again, even after performing acts of atonement. Therefore what is the value of such atonement?"

**Jagadīśa:** [reading letter] "Enclosed please find a clipping showing a press interview with California Governor Jerry Brown, who is a potential presidential candidate in the next election, asking the Hare Kṛṣṇa followers to help humanize conditions in the state mental institutes. He recognized that what is needed is for religious leaders to come in and to give these patients new life. And he recognized us as religious leaders.
"This is a great credit for us, and we immediately called the five biggest state institutes and got permission to visit their patients. We sent fifty devotees with gift-wrapped 'Krishnas' presents of *prasāda,* *Bhagavad-gītās* and *Kṛṣṇa* books, calendars, records, and so on. And all of the doctors were so appreciative that they invited us back to show movies, put on plays and continue helping their patients."
**Prabhupāda:** *Aiye.* [Transl. Please come in. So these activities are going on all over the world. You all are welcome to join.]

**Prabhupāda:** Hare Kṛṣṇa. What he will do, more pregnant? Then he will kill. This sex life in this material world is so strong, even in the heavenly planets. Big, big *ṛṣis.* Sex life with animals also there is description. Sex life is so strong. Man cohabiting with animals. It makes blind. Vyāsadeva made one of her [his] students pregnant...
**Prabhupāda:** ...**what to speak of us. Vyāsadeva was born, Satyavatī. She was low class. Although she was born by a king, but her mother was a low-class fisherwoman. And the fisherman raised her as daughter. And Parāśara Muni became attracted, and Vyāsadeva was born. Sex affairs, just see, in the highest circle. Bṛhaspati, the spiritual master of the *devatās,* he became so much mad for his brother's wife who was pregnant, and forcibly they had sex. Just see. These are examples. Brahmā became attracted with his daughter.
Lord Śiva became attracted with the beauty of Mohinī-mūrti, even in the presence of his wife. So this sex life can be controlled only by becoming Kṛṣṇa conscious. Otherwise there is no... The *Bhāgavata* has discussed all this because in this material world there is no escape, unless we become Kṛṣṇa conscious, from the sex impulse. It is not possible. *Yad-avadhi mama cetaḥ kṛṣṇa...* When one is fully Kṛṣṇa conscious, then he'll reject all this nonsense: "What is this?"
