# Sādhu's Business *On the duty of sādhus to preach and awaken dormant Kṛṣṇa consciousness* --- ### Go from Door to Door > So this is the process going on. Therefore Caitanya *Mahāprabhu* says, *sādhu-śāstra-kṛpāya yadi kṛṣṇonmukha.* Our only business is how to become Kṛṣṇa conscious. How to become Kṛṣṇa conscious. That can be done simply by the mercy of *sādhu.* Therefore *sādhus'* business is go from door to door and enlighten them. *Mahad-vicalanaṁ nṝṇāṁ gṛhiṇāṁ dīna-cetasām.*. The *sādhu's* business is that he goes from door to door and tries to invoke Kṛṣṇa consciousness, dormant Kṛṣṇa consciousness. — [[spoken/1971/710317le.bom|Lecture on Teachings of Lord Caitanya, Bombay, March 17, 1971]] --- ### Dormant Kṛṣṇa Consciousness > Therefore out of the ten kinds of offenses, one offense is that one who has no faith—this knowledge should not be delivered. That is stated in the *Bhagavad-gītā* also. But because we are preaching, faith or no faith, we are chanting, so that by hearing, hearing one may awake his faith also. That is recommended. *Nitya siddha kṛṣṇa*—this is a fact, that everyone has got Kṛṣṇa consciousness dormant within himself but it has to be awakened by the process of chanting and hearing. *Śravaṇādi-śuddha-citte karaye udaya*. — [[spoken/1971/710317sb.bom|Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 7.7.14–18, Bombay, March 17, 1971]] --- ### No Diplomacy, No Politics > Kṛṣṇa also gives guarantee, "Anyone who has taken shelter of My., he is saved. I will give him protection." Kṛṣṇa says, *ahaṁ tvāṁ mokṣayiṣyāmi sarva.* Everything is there. For Vaiṣṇava there is no suffering, personally. But he is very much anxious, "How these rascals will be happy?" That is his business. "These rascals are misled. They are going astray, unhappy. So how they should be happy?" So that is Vaiṣṇava's business. So the Vaiṣṇava, therefore, will have no politics. Politics means planning for one's own happiness. That is politics. So in our society there should be no diplomacy, no politics. Everyone should be eager how to do good to others. That is Vaiṣṇava. If he's planning something, that "I shall be leader," "I shall be doing something," that is not Vaiṣṇavism. That politics is not good. — [[spoken/1974/740315mw.vrn|Morning Walk, Vrindavan, March 15, 1974]] --- ### Representative of Kṛṣṇa > If you see the representative of Kṛṣṇa, that means you are seeing Kṛṣṇa. Because you have to see Kṛṣṇa through that representative; otherwise there is no seeing Kṛṣṇa. He is the transparent via media. Everyone has no idea what is Kṛṣṇa. And because the representative of Kṛṣṇa induces one to see Kṛṣṇa and gives his knowledge and intelligence and tactics how to see Kṛṣṇa, therefore he is as good as Kṛṣṇa. That is the verdict of all *śāstras. Sākṣād-dharitvena samasta-śāstrair. Samasta* means "all," and *śāstra* means "scripture." — [[spoken/1969/690319sb.haw|Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 7.9.8–11, Hawaii, March 19, 1969]] --- ### Whatever Talents You Have > [coughs] Śrīdhara Svāmī, giving the same formula, that you have to act something. You can not remain silent for a moment. It is said, "I, I will see," that is making surrender. No. You'll not see, you'll dream. So you can not make yourself, I mean to say, without activities for a moment either mind, body may be stopped acting but the mind will go on acting. Therefore Kṛṣṇa says that *yat karoṣi*, just, "Whatever you do—do it for Me." This is Kṛṣṇa consciousness. We therefore say that whatever talents you have got, just engage in Kṛṣṇa's service. You are a painter, alright. — [[spoken/1971/710320sb.bom|Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 7.7.25–29, Bombay, March 20, 1971]] --- *5 verified verbatim quotes from Śrīla Prabhupāda on the sādhu's business*
