# Practical Preaching *On practical methods of spreading Kṛṣṇa consciousness* --- ### Simply Repeat What Kṛṣṇa Says > Very simple thing: go and speak what Kṛṣṇa says. That's all. You have nothing to manufacture, Dr. Frog. [laughs] There is no need of manufacturing. We are very safe because we don't manufacture. We simply repeat, parrotlike, what Kṛṣṇa has said. That's all, finished. Kṛṣṇa says, *sarva-dharmān parityajya mām ekaṁ śaraṇaṁ vraja:* "Let aside everything. Just become My devotee, surrendered soul." So we are preaching that. We don't make any compromise. — [[spoken/1973/731228sb.la|Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 1.15.51, Los Angeles, December 28, 1973]] --- ### Everyone Can Become Guru > First of all make yourself perfect. You can make yourself perfect because in the Bhārata-varṣa there are this *Bhagavad-gītā, Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam,* Vedic literature. Just study them. And therefore we are publishing so many books on the basis of *Bhagavad-gītā* and *Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam,* and people are appreciating very much all over the world. — [[spoken/1976/761216bg.hyd|Bhagavad-gītā 16.8, Hyderabad, December 16, 1976]] --- ### Remain in the Congested City > So this Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement is not to remain in a secluded place to get cheap advertisement, "Oh, that man is meditating." No. Go, practically work. Just like Lord Jesus Christ, he practically worked. So there is practical work. No question of going into the secluded place. We should remain in the congested city and preach this Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement without being affected by this contamination of city life. That is perfection. — [[spoken/1968/681220bg.la|Bhagavad-gītā 3.1–5, Los Angeles, December 20, 1968]] --- ### From the Disciplic Succession > This is perfect process. *Evaṁ paramparā-prāptam imaṁ rājarṣayo viduḥ*, Kṛṣṇa says in the *Bhagavad-gītā.* The perfect knowledge received from Kṛṣṇa. From Kṛṣṇa, the knowledge was received by Brahmā. From Brahmā the knowledge was received by Nārada. From Nārada the knowledge was received by Vyāsadeva. From Vyāsadeva the knowledge was received by Madhva Muni. In this way, *paramparā-sūtra,* the same knowledge was received by Mādhavendra Purī. From Mādhavendra Purī, Īśvara Purī received the knowledge. From Īśvara Purī, Lord Caitanya received the knowledge. From Lord Caitanya, the six Gosvāmīs. In this way there is a *paramparā* system, handing down the knowledge from disciplic..., from disciple to disciple. — [[spoken/1972/721228sb.bom|Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 1.2.10, Bombay, December 28, 1972]] --- ### Take Instruction of Kṛṣṇa > That's all. How simple it is. You, every one of us, we take this missionary activities of Caitanya Mahāprabhu, we see immediately the face of the country will change. Every gentleman, every sane man, may speak to his family, to his community, to his nation, to his friend, what Kṛṣṇa has said. Then see the result. But they're all manufacturing concoction, becoming big scholars. The more you deviate from Kṛṣṇa's instruction, you become a scholar. — [[spoken/1975/751216mw.bom|Morning Walk, Bombay, December 16, 1975]] --- ### Create Some Sādhus > So everything can be attained very nicely and easily simply by this *sādhu-saṅga. Sādhu-saṅga.* Therefore we repeatedly say that we are trying to create some *sādhu* so that in different parts of the world they will preach Kṛṣṇa consciousness, and people will be able to associate with them, and they will become purified. This is Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement, that *sādhu-saṅga.* It is very essential. — [[spoken/1974/741124sb.bom|Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 3.25.24, Bombay, November 24, 1974]] --- ### Anyone Can Do This > Anyone you meet: "My dear friend, just hear little." "What is that?" "Now, Kṛṣṇa is the Supreme Personality of Godhead. You kindly think of Kṛṣṇa. Just offer your obeisances to Kṛṣṇa, just become a *bhakta* and chant His holy name." *Bās.* Your *gurugiri* is finished. So it is not very difficult task. Anyone can do this. And then everyone will be benefited. And that is Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement. — [[spoken/1976/761216bg.hyd|Bhagavad-gītā 16.8, Hyderabad, December 16, 1976]] --- ### Satisfying Kṛṣṇa Through Your Profession > If you have got artistic character, if you can dance, alright dance, if you can sing you sing. If you can fight you fight, that is all right but you take the *svanuṣṭhitasya dharmasya saṁsiddhir,* how your profession has been perfected. That perfection, the standard of perfection is *saṁsiddhir hari-toṣaṇam.* Try to satisfy Hari the Supreme Personality of Godhead by your art, culture, profession, characteristics. So that is Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement we do not stop anything, we stop only committing sinful activities—that we stop. — [[spoken/1972/721220le.bom|Lecture, Manipuri Dancing Group, Bombay, December 20, 1972]] --- *8 verified verbatim quotes from Śrīla Prabhupāda on practical preaching*
