# Mind Control *On conquering the restless mind through Kṛṣṇa consciousness* --- ### Mind Fixed Up in Kṛṣṇa > This is training. Mind is very flickering. Even five thousand years ago, when Arjuna was advised by Kṛṣṇa that "You make your restless mind fixed up," he frankly said, "Kṛṣṇa, it is not possible." *Cañcalaṁ hi manaḥ kṛṣṇa pramāthi balavad dṛḍham*: "I see my mind is always very much agitated, and to control the mind is exactly an attempt to stop the wind. So it is not possible." But actually his mind was fixed up in Kṛṣṇa. So those who mind have been fixed up at the lotus feet of Kṛṣṇa, they have conquered. Their mind is fixed up. That is wanted. *Sa vai manaḥ kṛṣṇa-padāravindayor vacāṁsi vaikuṇṭha-guṇānuvarṇane*. These are the qualifications of Mahārāja Ambarīṣa. He was very responsible emperor, but his mind was fixed up at the lotus feet of Kṛṣṇa. If we fix up our mind that we shall not do anything, *dṛḍha-vratāḥ... Bhajante māṁ dṛḍha-vratāḥ.* This is determination, that "I shall have nothing to do without Kṛṣṇa." Then you are first-class *yogī*—*dvija, brāhmaṇa,* everything. Brahmacari* means who is always in Brahman activities. That is *brahmacārī.* Or *brāhmaṇa* means one who knows the Supreme, Supreme Brahman, Paraṁbrahman. The same example as I give, that you have a good car. You are identifying yourself. But you are not the car. You are affected if the car is smashed, because you have got absorption in the car, that "This is my car." The other man is not affected. So for this pleasure only we are making so many plans. According to our own brain, teeny brain, we are making plans. Just the..., in the state also, they're making plans. Personally, individually and commercially, everyone is making plan. The plan-making means becoming entangled. And he has to..., they have to take birth again to fulfill the plan. *Vāsanā.* This is called *vāsanā.* So we have to purify the *vāsanā,* desire. That is required. "I want to satisfy my senses, and anyone who will help me in my sense gratification, I shall worship him. If he does not, then I shall not." Everywhere. This Nixon became president because he promised that "I shall satisfy your senses." Now he is not doing so, so "Get out." This is the whole formula, material world. "You satisfy my senses, you are my friend. And as soon as stop, then you are not my friend." So this magazine selling or taking some contribution is not our business. Our business is that we are spreading Kṛṣṇa consciousness, people are hearing about something about Kṛṣṇa. And because we are helping, we are also hearing. We are also benefiting. When you speak somebody about Kṛṣṇa, then I hear also Kṛṣṇa. *Śravaṇaṁ kīrtanam*. The first preliminary steps, hearing and chanting, is going on. So in this way we shall take all opportunities so that twenty-four hours, whether awakened or sleeping, we shall always think of Kṛṣṇa.
