# Everything Belongs to Kṛṣṇa
*On the real proprietor of everything*

### I Am Simply Allowed to Use It
> So here Kṛṣṇa says, *balaṁ balavatāṁ cāhaṁ:* "I am the strength." So long Kṛṣṇa allows you to use the strength, you can become proud of your strength. But as soon as He withdraws, then you are useless. This is Kṛṣṇa conscious. If anyone understands this philosophy, that "I possess this strength, I possess this wealth, I possess this beauty, I possess such and such education, riches—but they are all Kṛṣṇa's gift. Actually I do not possess anything. Kṛṣṇa has given them to use, and He has given the privilege to me to use it. But I must know that these things are possession of Kṛṣṇa," this is Kṛṣṇa consciousness sense. Therefore because we are wrongly thinking that "I am the proprietor of this thing; I possess this thing," this is *māyā.* When you come to the conclusion that "I do not possess anything; everything belongs to Kṛṣṇa. I am simply allowed to use it, that's all." Everything. We are claiming, "This is our country," "This is my land." Actually it is not so. The land belongs to Kṛṣṇa. He has already explained it, *bhūmir āpo 'nalo vāyuḥ*:

### Kṛṣṇa Is the Origin of Everything
> So everything is going on by combination of these two energies. And because these two energies are emanating from Kṛṣṇa, therefore Kṛṣṇa is the origin of creation. This is the conclusion. Kṛṣṇa is the original cause. Kṛṣṇa says also, *ahaṁ sarvasya prabhavo*: "I am the origin of everything." The *Vedānta-sūtra* says that Absolute Truth, Supreme Personality of Godhead, is He from who everything generates: *janmādy asya yataḥ.* These are the statements of the Vedic literature, and the conclusion is that Kṛṣṇa is the origin of everything, *sarva-kāraṇa-kāraṇam,* the cause of all causes.

### Hari—He Takes Away
> Here Kṛṣṇa says, *ahaṁ kṛtsnasya jagataḥ prabhavaḥ pralayas tathā.* Kṛṣṇa says, *prabhavaḥ pralayas tathā.* Here in this material world, we experience that things are generated, or born, and again they are finished, vanquished. So the cause of generation is also Kṛṣṇa, and the cause of vanquishing is also Kṛṣṇa. Kṛṣṇa says in the *Bhagavad-gītā, aham sarva-haraś ca. Aham sarva-mṛtyu:* "At last I am. As death I take away everything from the living entity." *Aham sarva-haraś ca* mṛtyu,* mṛtyu aham, sarva-haraś.*. So at the time of death we lose everything, whatever we have gained. So who takes away? Therefore Kṛṣṇa's another name is Hari. Hari means "taking away," *hara, harati dipati*[?], He takes away. So for the devotee He takes away all the material miseries, and for the nondevotee He takes away everything what he has created. Therefore He is called Hari.

### Janasya Moho 'yam
> Everything belongs to the Supreme Lord, *janasya moho 'yam ahaṁ mameti* of me an mine. So, we are the living entities and we are parts and parcels of the Supreme Lord *mamaivāṁśo jīva-loke,* we belong to the Supreme Lord. And things that we have received it also belongs to the Supreme Lord. Therefore, everything present in this world belongs to God and including ourselves *Īśāvāsyam idaṁ sarvam* [Īśo mantra 1] Whoever recognizes that he belongs to the Supreme Lord he is liberated because he has understood his real nature svarūpa and in one's real constitutional position *svarūpeṇa vyavasthitiḥ:*, liberated state means when one is situated in their eternal constitutional position *muktir hitvānyathā-rūpaṁ.*

### We Force God to Give Sanction
> You may say that when we do something bad, why God gives us sanction? God does not give us sanction, but we force Him to give us sanction. Therefore He gives us sanction. Otherwise, He does not give sanction. But because we want to do it persistently, so God gives us sanction: "All right. You can do it. And you have to enjoy or suffer the result." Therefore in the *Bhagavad-gītā,* the last instruction is that *sarva-dharmān parityajya mām ekaṁ śaraṇaṁ vraja*: "Don't try to do according to your whims. You just surrender unto Me, abide by Me. Then I shall give you all protection. But if you want to do according to your own whims, and if you do not hear Me, what can I do? You do that and enjoy the result."
