Madhya 25.123 ## Text > etāvad eva jijñāsyaṁ > tattva-jijñāsunātmanaḥ > anvaya-vyatirekābhyāṁ > yat syāt sarvatra sarvadā ## Synonyms *etāvat*—up to this; *eva*—certainly; *jijñāsyam*—to be inquired about; *tattva*—of the Absolute Truth; *jijñāsunā*—by the student; *ātmanaḥ*—of the self; *anvaya*—directly; *vyatirekābhyām*—and indirectly; *yat*—whatever; *syāt*—it may be; *sarvatra*—everywhere; *sarvadā*—always. ## Translation **“ 'A person interested in transcendental knowledge must therefore always directly and indirectly inquire about it to know about the all-pervading truth.** ## Purport This is a quotation from *Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam* [[sb/2/9/36|(2.9.36)]].
