Madhya 20.250 ## Text > prathamei kare kṛṣṇa 'puruṣāvatāra' > seita puruṣa haya trividha prakāra ## Synonyms *prathamei*—in the beginning; *kare*—does; *kṛṣṇa*—Lord Kṛṣṇa; *puruṣa*-*avatāra*—the incarnation of the three Viṣṇus (Mahā-Viṣṇu, Garbhodakaśāyī Viṣṇu and Kṣīrodakaśāyī Viṣṇu); *seita*—that; *puruṣa*—Viṣṇu; *haya*—becomes; *tri*-*vidha* *pra*-*kāra*—three different manifestations. ## Translation **"In the beginning, Kṛṣṇa incarnates Himself as puruṣa-avatāras, or Viṣṇu incarnations. These are of three types.** ## Purport Up to this verse, the many types of expansions have been described. Now the manifestations of the Lord's different potencies will be described.
