Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupāda** | | | |---|---| | **First Published** | 1977 (BBT) | | **Chapters** | 18 | | **Source** | Third Canto of Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam | | **Language** | English | --- ## About This Book *Teachings of Lord Kapila* presents Śrīla Prabhupāda's commentary on the instructions given by Lord Kapila, an incarnation of Viṣṇu, to His mother Devahūti. These teachings, found in the Third Canto of *Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam,* explain the philosophy of Sāṅkhya (analytical study of matter and spirit) and the practice of bhakti-yoga (devotional service). Lord Kapila establishes that pure devotional service to the Supreme Lord is the ultimate goal of all philosophical inquiry and yoga practice. He describes the characteristics of a sādhu, the process of meditation, and the means of achieving liberation while remaining fixed in loving service to Kṛṣṇa.
