vidveṣa-naṣṭa-matayaḥ
striyo dāruṇa-cetasaḥ
garaṁ daduḥ kumārāya
durmarṣā nṛpatiṁ prati
Synonyms
vidveṣa-nasta-matayaḥ—whose intelligence was lost in envy; striyah—the women; dāruṇa-cetasaḥ—being very hardhearted; garam—poison; daduḥ—administered; kumārāya—unto the boy; durmarsah—being intolerant; nṛpatim—the King; prati—upon. ¶
Translation
As their envy increased, they lost their intelligence. Being extremely hardhearted and unable to tolerate the King’s neglect, they finally administered poison to the son. ¶
