‘ātmā’-śabde ‘dhṛti’ kahe,—dhairye yei rame
dhairyavanta eva hañā karaya bhajane

Synonyms

atma-Sabde—by the word ātmā; dhṛti—perseverance; kahe—it is said; dhairye—with perseverance; yei rame—anyone who endeavors; dhairyavanta—such persons with endurance; eva—certainly; hana—becoming; karaya—perform; bhajane—devotional service.

Translation

“Another meaning of ātmā is dhṛti, or endurance. A person who endeavors with endurance is ātmārāma. With endurance, such a person engages in devotional service.
