Written by Kṛṣṇadāsa Kavirāja Gosvāmī in Bengali verse, this masterpiece presents the most profound philosophical conclusions of Vaiṣṇava theology alongside the most intimate spiritual emotions. The work is divided into three sections: - **Ādi-līlā** — Lord Caitanya's early life, identity, and associates - **Madhya-līlā** — His travels, teachings, and instructions to Rūpa and Sanātana Gosvāmīs - **Antya-līlā** — His final years in Jagannātha Purī and His transcendental ecstasies Śrīla Prabhupāda completed the entire translation with elaborate commentary in just eighteen months, calling it "the postgraduate study of spiritual knowledge." > *"Śrī Caitanya-caritāmṛta is the postgraduate study of Bhagavad-gītā and Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam."* > — Śrīla Prabhupāda
